Hi, I'm Kerry Korsgaard, a board member
of the Southwest Seattle Historical Society. I'm standing next to the fireplace
in the main gallery of our Log House Museum
where we're displaying a truly unique set of
furniture. We're offering this set for auction
at our Champagne Gala Lunch on Saturday,
November 9, at Salty's on Alki. This beautiful set of
furniture consists of a wood-framed couch with comfortable
blue cushions along with two matching,
wood-framed chairs. The design of these pieces
includes wide, paddle armrests
and a scalloped treatment along the front of the woodwork.
What makes these pieces unique is that they come with a story.
They were used for four decades --
going back to the early 1970s -- at the Alki Lighthouse.
They come to us through the generosity
of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. Please stop by the Log House Museum
during our opening hours, Thursday through Sunday,
12 to 4, to see these pieces
in person. And if you're interested don't forget to place
early bid online at our web-site, loghousemuseum.info.
Hope to see you at the Gala!
