The sun is smiling bright out there!
Welcome to our own fave wave of cool tunes!
Today will be groooov...
Hi. I'm Jacob:
Or Jake, as everyone calls me.
And this is Lucy.
Not bad, eh?
We met some while ago.
We took it slowly at first,
but then we just got it together,
and everything was super.
We were crazy about each other, devoted.
This is ace!
But after a while we hit a snag...
Come on slow-coach!
I'm coming after you
This - is NOT me.
Just you wait til I get to you.
Hey! -
who's there?!
hee, come on Tom, it was nothing
Hallooo!
Forget it, swim.
Tom?
Tom?!
Tom!!
Don't...
Tom!?
Aaah!
Hah! - Got you!
Got you worried, eh?
What was that?
Where are you swimming!?
I want to check out what fell there.
Jeeepers-creepers
What the?
I dunno - let's get out of here
I'm not going back there!
Can you drop me off?
Yep - straightaway.
So give him my regards, see ya.
Bye.
Come on mate.
Aah - neat fix.
Creepy junkies.
Cooey Jake, I'm home.
Hi honey!
How was the water?
- How's Eva?
I heard she and Paul aren't getting on.
Who'd have thought it? They always seemed so well matched. But maybe they'll get it back together - what do you think? Eh?
We need to go shopping.
This is the last of the pasta I found.
Not sure what it was doing in the freezer, but at least it survived.
And the sauce is pure improvisation,
it'll be ok with a bit of cheese...
Coming up.
Tuck in. Buon appetito.
Hmm pretty good, no?
- What's up?
I dunno -
I don't feel well.
So maybe go and lie down?
Hmmm, I think I'd better.
Are you OK?
You're burning up!
I'll be fine.
Lucy!
This is serious. We'll go to the clinic. I'll call Tom and make you some tea. Wait here.
Hallo?
Hi Tom, 'you awake?
Wide awake and out with Mike.
You drinking?
Hey no, I feel lousy today, really crap, and I'm the chauffeur.
Lucy is very sick. She has a raging fever and I'd like to take her to casualty.
Oh yea, you don't have wheels do you? Want a lift?
If you could be quick that would be good.
Aw, within half an hour mate, no problem...
Thanks a bunch Tom, great - Tom!?
Mike? Mike, oi moosh!
Tom?!
Hallo?

Mike, oi mush? What are you...?!
Tom?
I'm better now. No need to go anywhere.
Don't mess about. Tom will be here soon and - we'll go. Come and drink your tea.
But why? I feel fine, honest, why should we go anywhere?
Oh great, the lift is on strike - we'll have to walk down.
Ow the stairs, I feel sick again.
Remember what the Head says. Lifts are for losers.
Yeah right
Eh? - What the?
Bulb?
Hm. Most likely.
I'll call him.
Yep.
Hm, maybe she really does feel better. Tom isn't answering. On his way, I guess.
Got 'ny change?
Get stuffed moosh.
Wot? Nothing?
Tom? - Clear off!
Jake?
Aaaah - Help! Help! Somebody! Please! Somebody please help!
Hurry!
What the? Hey? What's all this! - Get back here!
You okay?
You alright!?
No.
C'mon - get up.
Thanks.
Better.
Oh Tom! I was so scared -
Jake? Are you all right?
Listen lovebirds, don't mind me, but the clinic is out of town.
What the hell was that mate?
I dunno.
Jeez isn't that Mike's ride?
That's Mike's car for sure.
That cretin went drunk drivin' again!?
What's up?
What a superdickhead.
***! I'll do him!
Not like it's the first time.
Has he done it before then?
Yep - the cretin
- dipshite.
Are you better?
Yep, I felt better before already. You never listen to me, though.
Where's Tom gone?
What?
Tom has wandered off.
No sign of Mike, only found this - I'll go back to look.
What did he say?
What?
What is it!?
***, ***!
Jake, do something!
Oh ***, ***!
He's behind us! Behind us!
***
Jake! You've run over Tom!
No I haven't!
I didn't!
Oh ***, I did run him over!
***! *** - Why us?
Tom is dead!
Damn.
Damn!
Jake! - Someone is tailing us!
What IS this!?
What the...?
***! No!
I think they're gone, we've shaken them off.
There's somebody there.
Where are we? - What's going on?
Shhh - Come and see.
Hey wiseguy, ever heard of airborne contamination?
It's always the same.
Where has the pickup got to? We've been waiting half the day.
Who are they?
Hm, we're losing time...
How's the evacuation?
They've managed to get a lot of them to safety. The situation is still out of control, though.
High time something went right.
Good thing we caught those two.
The virus is being analyzed right now.
So I hope they won't put a bullet through that butthead of yours - hm?
Now the penny drops - all of a sudden.
They can't be here!
He's got a gun!
All clear
Best get packing.
What if they see us? - I'm scared!
They're AWAKE!
Come on quick!
Back!
This way!
Where the hell did they go!?
Lucy - Lucy!
After her!
Easy - nice and calm now.
The gun, I'll rest it here.
Have you completely lost it!?
Care to calm down!?
Lucy! You OK?
Jake!
- I think I killed him.
I did kill him.
I've killed him.
Yeah, right. Not much of a good time.
Lucy was quite out of sorts...
And as for me, I was starting to feel really sick...
Watch out!
Sir, the prime subject is still at large.
Well don't just stand there, go and get things under control -
there is no time to waste!
What happened here?
Where is everyone?
Did you hear that?
No
Damn!
You've got that gun!?
Go on, shoot him then!
I think he's had his chocolates.
...but feel free to call me Brute.
So you really don't know what's been going on?
Well drop my draws and take a peek,
I'd never have thought I'd meet your sort,
and I have met all sorts round here,
but most of 'em wanted to chew my *** off.
Looks home and dry.
Watch your feet!
It all started like common flu - except *** quicker.
My mate came into the bar all sickly.
Nothing weird about him, til he started to chew up my other mate.
And then the two of them came after my ***, so I stubbed them out.
Once they bite you, you've caught it too,
best to cop it right there and then...
Watchout!
That was close -
They're here!
Die!
Yeeeeaaah!
Run! Go on, run!
Come on you trash!
Where now!?
Up the stairs!
Fuckshit!
No use bein' soft on 'em!
*** me, there are more and more of 'em!
Like in some friggin Zombie movie!
Let's go.
Through the door on the left!
Go on!
Up yours!
You look dreadful - we're safe here.
There's plenty out there but they'll calm down soon.
What you staring at dude - that's my den, see.
Where are we?
Most buildings here are empty, just this one has them creeps in it.
The squaddies came, and some suits, and started to clear the area.
A state of emergency, they said.
But there was jack-*** about it on the telly, jack-*** anywhere,
so I said ***, I don't believe their pigshite, not me.
I stayed put.
I dunno what they are,
but those *** aint *** with me, no way.
Wait, I'll get you some grub.
Brute!?
The door! Door!
The *** bit me! Make a run for it quick! There's a way out back there - scoot!
Clear off!
*** off out of here dammit! Soon it will be me chewing your *** off.
Go on! Go! Go!
C'mon you ***.
Oh ***!
Where now!?
Away!
Jake, what is it!?
Jacob!
Jacob!
Noooo!
J a k e! -
J a k e!
I was pretty well out of it.
Go.
So we meet at last. Settle down and sit down please. Your friend will no doubt welcome it.
Will I finally find out what's happening - And where we are?!
Many questions to ask, no doubt.
But first, I need you both to pay attention!
But what is going on out there?!...
Kindly give me some of your time
Let us begin -
- from a broader perspective.
Well, as you are aware,
Space is full of wandering debris.
When we see a so-called falling star, we are dealing with a meteoroid.
Typically a piece of flying rock or other mineral,
which burns up in the atmosphere before impact.
What mumbo jumbo?! What about out there!
Patience, we'll get to that presently.
For some time now we have been looking into a very specific kind of space-object.
At first glance they resemble meteorites,
but with most extraordinary properties.
Most surprising is their unnatural, almost technical trajectory.
In no case so far have they occurred in isolation,
indeed they do always fly in groups,
as we have noted over time.
We?
Moreover these bodies,
flying in groups,
are arranged in regular formation.
This fact, among others,
suggests they are being launched,
or, so we surmise.
Intentionally?!
Might I have caught your attention at last?
Good heavens!
Back to the matter in question.
Throughout history, similar bodies have fallen to Earth many times.
Which led to our present
INVASION THEORY!
Someone or something is launching into space
projectiles which carry a deadly infection,
thus clearing the ground
for effortless colonization.
Who are you?
Your curiousity is enthralling, Miss.
We have been active here for quite some time.
The aforementioned Invasion Theory is keeping us busy.
Sir?
We have established, that the space bodies carry within them a curious
extraterrestrial virus.
This virus is multiform,
and causes catastrophic pandemics
soon after impact.
Previous research has established much
about the given variant,
and given us much valuable information.
This underlies our approach -
to this day.
That's too weird!
The infectious epidemiology is somewhat unusual:
Some time after the infected body strikes,
it begins to release gases
containing the primary form of the virus.
Upon contact with the first host,
and in response to the functions of that organism,
the virus adapts,
by a kind of controlled mutation:
Adapted to its new environment,
the virus spreads among individuals of that species easily,
adjusting itself more and more
to its new-found host organism.
In due course it mutates to reach the status of
the ultimate biological weapon...
So, what is going on then?
Lucia, we are in the midst of an infection,
a rapidly spreading infection.
In the terminal phase those infected
turn into pitiless beasts, subservient to the virus.
It all depends on individual resistance,
and the type of infection met with.
In the present case,
we shall soon be forced
to sterilize this region,
kill everything,
and raze it to the ground.
You can't!
There are people out there, and...
We have no other choice -
UNLESS...
What!?
In rare cases, the primary host, i.e. the person
who meets with the primary virus,
manages to create antibodies,
and to stabilize the virus within themselves.
I mean you, Miss.
YOU are that host.
The situation has been made worse, in that,
of the two prime subjects, only you remain.
Two subjects!?
Yes. At the meteorite landing site two persons were observed.
That's - Tom?
What the?!
As you well know, your friend is dead!
And you are now the last one to hold the key to this virus,
and can resolve this situation!
What?! You with TOM!?
How could you!?
Forgive me Jake, I didn't mean to...
He is also infected.
He is showing first-stage symptoms.
You can help him!
Jake!
Jake, no!
Jake!
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!
How good of you to come round. We were becoming rather - concerned.
Where am I?
Where am I?! Where is Lucy?!
Lucy - damn her. That little...
I would not speak that way of someone who saved - your life,
- by laying down her own.
Wait!
Like a lunatic I wandered around that empty sanatorium before it dawned on me that I was the only one there.
In my delirium I thought bitterly of Lucy, who had been cheating on me with my best friend.
It took some time for me to grasp it all and make sense of what that old man had been trying to explain to us.
I am alive.
I don't know why.
I don't know where everyone got to and what really happened;
least of all what's become of my beloved Lucy.
All I have left is that last thing a man has in this cruel world -
HOPE...
But I do know one thing...
I ain't no ***' picnic!!!
