At the Skills Canada National Competition each year, the top students from each province
and territory across the country
gather to compete in world-class skilled trade and technology challenges.
Thanks to hundreds of competitors, volunteers, teachers and coordinators
the competition has continued to be a success.
In the Electrical Installations challenge, students must be proficient in reading and
interpreting blueprints, drawings and electrical code specifications.
They must also have the ability to effectively and safely install, maintain and repair
wiring, switches, circuit breaks and other apparatus.
However, without the help of corporate sponsors such as Fluke Electronics,
events of this magnitude would not be possible.
Fluke donates equipment to Skills Competitions at the
Provincial, National and International level.
Fluke Electronics is one of the leading companies in the world that manufactures, designs and
develops electrical and electronic test equipment.
The equipment that we provide tests the voltage, tests the current,
tests the installation . . . it basically makes it safe.
These competitions help them to hone their skills and give them a good chance of getting
the very best jobs that are available.
Students transfer success in these challenges to success in the workplace,
becoming highly competitive candidates in the Electrical Installations field.
