It all worked out. Our two aims for today.
One was to get Jack across the line without any issues to
secure his Young Rider Jersey which we managed to do that.
The other one to get Caleb up there and try and be in the mix
for the finish. He was up there. I haven't spoken to him yet but he
was top ten somewhere. I am just not really sure what happened.
So we I couldn't be happier really. To win a jersey here is pretty special
and we have come home with one so that is great. Marcel Kittel won
four stages in the Tour De France last year. Grippel is biggest power
sprinter in the world. There can't be better these guys so our team
UniSA are young guys some on their first time at Tour Down Under so to
come home with jersey I mean these racing pro tour guys. This is the
best in the world so I am very happy with that. I was at the Legends
dinner with all the pro directors and they were all talking about young
Jack and Caleb and the young Aussies are the hottest property in
world cycling and they are a valuable commodity and everybody keeps
an eye on the best young guys coming up. This is putting your hand up
in the biggest stage in the world and he has been well noticed I can
assure you. Go back just about every pro that has gone into the big
circuit, most of them have come through UniSA. Your Jack Boveridge
and Simon Clarke and Rowan Dennis and even Will Clark was out
there today. Most of the guys come through it over the years and it is
a pathway through to the big world out there. The keep inviting back
and it is all good fun. Nice staying at the Hilton so as long as they
keep inviting me I will keep coming back. My favourite week of the
year bar none.
