Hi, I’m Lauren Laverne. This is clearly finished, my hair and make-up. I’m here
at the Drinkaware commercial that we’re shooting. This is in windy Finsbury Park in
North London, although it’s going to look like a festival when it’s finished. Stay
with us and see what happens! >> Action!

>> Hi there, I’m Daniel, I’m the director of today’s Drinkaware advert. It’s the
second of two, and it stars Lauren Laverne. So the campaign is: “Drink Less, Miss Less”,
and in this, what she’s doing: she’s on stage, addressing a large festival crowd.
A band has just gone off, and she’s coming on to gee them up ready for the next act,
and she’s getting very enthusive, and interactive with them, and it gets to the stage where
she decides she’s going to go crowd-surfing – take a massive dive off the stage into
the audience. But we will have already seen the audience drinking heavily, and by the
time Lauren throws herself off the stage, the crowds will have dissipated, meaning that
she’s going to land on the ground. >> Waaaaah!
[thump]
>> LAUREN: We’re doing my stage dive now, which is… er, quite fun actually, ‘cos
I haven’t done one for a long time!
>> Urghh! [music]
>> [Daniel, off camera] Lauren, honestly, how many more of these do you think you’ve
got in you? >> Lauren: One!
>> Daniel: One more? >> Lauren: [giggles] Yeah!
>> Lauren: I think Drinkaware’s a good cause, you know, the thing is, it’s about having
moderation and a happy medium. There’s a difference between a social drink and anti-social
drinking, isn’t there, and it’s not preachy and hopefully it’s just funny and, you know,
a nice fun little film that gets the message across.
>> Daniel: What are we doing here? We’re filming people having a wee up against a tree…
[wry nod] >> Lauren: OK, well that’s us done. It looks
like it’s about to chuck it down, but we’ve had a dry day so that’s good news. And that
means we can all go for a drink. In moderation, clearly.
