Hey guys, so this is going to be my very first DIY video featuring Gudetama~
So, I'm gonna go straight into it. I got my clay from daiso.
The air-dry clays, one in yellow and one in white.
But if you can get oven bake clay instead I do recommend that
because the holding power is not that strong for air dry clay.
But as I don't have an oven so..yea..
Starting with the egg white base,
as the air dry clays tend to be soft and squishy
the molding part took me quite awhile.
But my method was to flatten the ball of clay
and shape the corners carefully to round it off.
But I do realize that it's a little bit difficult
So I actually use the scissors to trim it off
Make the base thicker than you think you'll need
as mine broke off halfway while working with the body
For the body, start by rolling a ball of clay into a rough egg shape
if the clay isn't smooth enough you can always add water and re-shape it again
Assemble the body onto the egg white base
and mold it to it's actual body shape
Use water to attach the clay together
and there you have it!
To me the legs and arms are the hardest to do
because it's very thin and will break off easily
So, I find it easy to shape into a rough V-shape
and mold it onto the body,
then trimming it to the right length
Do the same for both legs and you'll have its cute little legs!
For the arms, I've made using the same method for the legs
but using my picks as an estimation
I insert them lightly into the clay, where I want them to rest on
I then add extra clay on the back of it's arm for support
as the clay dries, it will hold it together.
and as I've said my egg white base broke
I had to remake another piece
And I added an extra dialogue on the back
which I think it's cute but it's optional.
Oh! Gudetama san loves it too! xD
Using my felt tip marker, I roughly mark the eyes position
Using a tiny piece of white clay
I cut a piece of triangle..and yea I don't really have proper cutting tools..
So I don't know what's this actually xD
Place that on the body on mold it into place.
Once it's dry, line the mouth with felt tip pen
and colour in it's eyes.
And there you have it!
