i think that there's going to be a while we started at back in two thousand two
february fourteenth valentine's day on which will be pop will be uh... it was
the day that series as satellite radio launched we were there first original
talk show
uh... we said was serious l_a_ radio for a number of years three four years or so
and uh... we were precise serious bosnian serious lacked uh... actually
show was
a lot more about pop culture uh... and politics next in the beginning
became more political when there was no other liberal show on at the time
on radio or tv so we just got to get the mental couldn't believe bush was
invading iraq
anyway so we moved over to of the local station a seriously almost created that
for us
tis week says that they're along with some other programs as well and then
uh... we joined air america became their morning shift uh... dr show
and uh... we write some salary deal with them there with us at the time of the
web
got partition so they are well and you too
i don't know if he does before huge on utube
toward him by drink on youtube
how we're going back on exam as well so we're gonna be out accent and well and
you too
and that have some and new deals as well
uh... but they said that so distorted
what sets us apart from other political shows is uh... work even a real
look ill when you watch of a political shows you get a sense that there
for a lot about what their fate
you know they
look at you like all prophetically as if they really care
and they speak robotic leave part of the reason for that is because they're
reading for my uh... script that so they're producer will form they don't
even really need it most of that
not every joke you don't know the great showing
heat seems pretty real certainly
an adjuster doesn't have a plan which of course is great
uh... but uh... auto shows that you see on t_v_ or staff
and completely disingenuous
and we try to make copies and the tentative because i think it is
entertaining
and i get actually
impassioned by i don't work dot
provided both funny and uh... at the same time sometimes
enraging as i was
uh... about some of the things that happened
which was the democrat sparkling as they always easy i'm almost into it already
because it's part of what i do its part of why a m
it's this is all i have off their to many people can tell that maybe people
can relate to that
you know how we strike a balance between it be entertaining in again
keeping people well formed
that's all for this show
i
look through the is the day and we all do we think
what's the most interesting news was the most important is in those sometimes a
different things and sometimes in the same thing
and i would make important is the naked that
entertaining and i don't think the interesting wasn't that they could
important
and uh...
it's driven by the fact that we actually care about this time
uh... so if i am because both uh... worked up about an issue
i would tell you in a way that this is
but shows i worked up by an
and sometimes that commotion bubbles over and sometimes to go by that instead
of god bless their hearts
and other times arms sig really amused by the stories
whether it's politicians do stupid things or we also cover pop culture and
entertainment and dot if bill if there's any said to be able to do demme's aids
and politicians and celebrities
so actually love the materialize i love the news everyday and i think
uh... we can strike that balance easily
because uh... i have a passion for so i think it's all entertaining
and uh... and
most of it is important so and we share all that with our audience
cutting this year's presidential election so
course have been
uh... there's a as good a primary races you could hope for on the democratic
side regular criminal bomb a lot of drama
other republican side i wish it lessened longer i was so much fun come on
mit romney talking about hunting bar mints
rudy guiliani taking the call from this
uh... wife in the middle of a speeches that an hour and a they're all a bunch
of goof balls they see fickle once crazy on the other
and so in iran fought to get everybody's after in the debate heats
and then ignoring the complete reality the sale is on the foreign policy side
hi entertainment
you know if people are later questions is uh... what
clip so i like best on youtube
i say some of the best flipside like is our producers jr jackson
together the
you know the best of the republican prior and there
best of the democratic primary
uh... to music and i love those some of those moments that i love covering this
election
and we're just getting worse that now we have the real deal get the title bout
or baba verses mccain
and because of our last minute guy competition so
every single day so i can't wait to see what he's saying next
and all bomber is that
unbelievable politician he did say that in there
good away and you can also take for it in a bad way but
yes he's a once-in-a-lifetime politician
and has tremendous and repeatedly shows that and really knows how to connect
with an audience and has a real
howard and act for
what people want to hear
uh... and
speaking largely believes that which makes it even better
this was a questions that i that's the that two different
uh... candidates now obama-mccain
unabomb up well most curious about is how does he make the decision how does
he get that judgment that balance
between politics and policy one in that
he's he's a great politician and sometimes he does things as all
politicians do
for the sake of politics and not for policy your principal
or because he really believes in it
and other times of course any politician if they're halfway decent human being
will draw the line and say i can't do that purple politics a
this what i really believe another fight for you not over he's going to help me
politically
how did you draw that balance you know where it is he decide that line is
and what is it all right across from one side to another
because they don't have a good sense of that for more bombing yet
completely sure what he's willing to do
uh... for
politics se
and and i'd love the no answer add to that
uh... other mccain side happily it's a real fundamental question which is who
are you dude
and really
because few that john mccain who was against torture and who was
in favor of immigration
uh... reform a sensible way and the list goes on and i'd give me ten twenty
different things
and then you have a john mccain who was on the complete honors offices cyber
times even says
uh... all year my immigration bill that was that it you know that i have a
cecille path is citizenship not i guess that vote against the right now
at and
he's flip-flopped on all these things so
i really
i don't know what he's doing it for political expediency
uh... and he actually believes one side or another
what idon't heat milken's lost himself and he doesn't quite really know what he
believes
will say something to uh... uh... hard-core republican audience the please
send an enemy
independent audience the please them
and slash track of what he really believes
i don't know if he does
the great mysteries
which side are you really i'm john mccain
i thought the sensible site
or are you on the it crazy rightwing side you've taken positions on both
sides
almost every issue
and not just like eight years ago or twenty years ago recently within the
school race
i don't know who john mccain is and i did
then if i could have a conversation where he was financed and didn't think
it was gonna get on the world
people knew what he actually believes about the issues
i would be phenomenal
uh... he's pander so much that might not really matter because
even if he believes those things for political sake you might do the exact
opposite
becky shown that over the last couple of years
so if he's president might not matter what he personally believes
but it would still be at least interesting to find out
and probably some indication of what do you do as president
house you to be back to politics go s
senator or i should say former senator george on for virginia
cop come on these guys
is in the past cc a free ride
anybody dot even with obscene stevie abut
people record on their v_h_s_
and what do you do with it eddie cadre del cid something regency have all your
home video
if the gatekeepers that
television uh... for the most part sometimes radio uh... if those mass
media folks wouldn't put it on there
you can do anything with it your stock
if you saw john mccain and that clear uh...
flip-flop
or use all bothered doing gap whatever might be
as a as a citizen
as a that member of the public who cares
it was nothing you could do about it
you could give me copies ascended to your congressman appear
local media posted to your friends
but that one gets w anywhere
now you put it on you tube and we all see it
any catch on fire
i do you really pouring down the whole concept of gatekeepers
and that's what i a little it's it
it hasn't indicted politics has changed politics
and some people are slow to catch on as john mccain is
and that's why he's contradict himself did not realize he's on paper it is like
youtube
organising
a brave new films with a look at the other and that will lead a rally on
trucks
noticing
by dole spoke on crazy michel served uh...
complete conquest of the world
one of the multimedia
uh... we want to be on radio we won't be on the web we want to be on t_v_ all the
same time
have fields
basically a three hour show uh... and then have run clips on you tube in and
other places
and people say can't be done criteria for a house on television are gonna be
on all three platforms
uh... you shouldn't too high
well who will decide this iraqi we were a lot and a half of it we got that
second satellite radio lockdown
we've got uh... the intellect internet like down there that you know
over three million viewers uh... mob on you tube now and growing exponentially
everyday
we got a lot of viewers on a while on our own web site on the interest that
come with a can watch the whole show
uh... and we got a good economic model for two last for a long time look idle
i'd like to
creek accomplished all those things that i'd like to be on top of the world
but i think that you don't even need not all we need to do is
be self-sustaining which basically we are ready
and everything else is great just do what we do and uh... and what we love
you do
and then bag grow from their and it looks like we're in willing to ship to
do it
do other favorite utube video uh... to a town and uh... posters i i love the
radio fills the deals with issue meeting
saying one thing and then the next
clip shows in say the exact opposite
they've got so many of those he was absolutely ridiculous alone or do they
do that i love the heads up video were of the mainstream media smith is based
all your base
programmer with andrea
uh... i love jazz videos that i i talked about earlier uh... show in the
republican and democratic
are racist that set to music
um...
arab artists i'm i'm on most of them so it's kind of weird to say i was when i
like i guess
the one where lucid check goes ballistic from a long time ago where the whole set
and i've swam in the u_s_a_ today on the table
uh... that's always fun
and my guilty pleasure is probably uh... doctor david b shilts uh... sf
cybil shepard and john stossel around
and i shouldn't should like that i did not say reject my software liking that
but uh...
it's funny every dime
i have a new favorite video on youtube
it's not about
uh... apparently is capitalism character did a video about us uh... essay
apparently
of course i watch that
and it was funny and ridiculous at actually kind of flattery in his own
maniacal way
uh... although he certainly didn't need it that way
uh... and has had a news by that
and then medha bob is a response to him
it was a twenty minute dissertation on other shell and me
and he have
god it was phenomenal he really did his homework is idon't know he's a professor
what he has but
i mean he got my blog seek on our show he put together all the clips and he's
exactly right i mean
nights because it was complimentary parts but because
he held by philosophy
uh... by any descended from the different clips on the different blocks
without put up
so
a twenty minute piece about me
of course that's my favorite movie are you doing
by any advice like at advices for which which is for good reason because
they have to be cliches his accounted for
uh... one is persistence
that i'm probably one through and niner processes when i first started
i sent out mighty
intrigue radio station
i had about two jobs out of it
what was a weekend job in boston other was a fill-in and weekend job in
washington d_c_
by parlay that into t_v_ and then radio and and
internet and back to radio to set up
out but i do that
just sheet on ron in men
their people say don't take no for an answer at s
largely true
used remember this when you need bounce right he can't the mental about it
became kornberg program directors how's it going
part-time they
that's that's too much but at the same time you can go to their office to the
radio station
and say hey listen i really believe in this universe into it
and do a little preparation ahead of time you you'll be a lot better off if
you sent to the right radio stations
and fall those with more of your energy in your passion
then you would if u said did what i did and he decided no any better ascending
to so many different stations
at least half of which probably ninety percent of which didn't make sense
for might show so get focused uh... have some good judgment
but once you got those down the bottom line is persistence if you really
believe what you do and you can get it to enough people somebody believe it or
not but somebody will put you on air and then you're on your own you need a good
ratings uh... you get a lot of people who watcher to listen
uh... and uh... he'll take off
uh... and and that's where the world works its
definitely not easy
uh... but it's it's doable as kevin garnett said at the head of that
uh... celtics lakers championship basketball football
i be his version was a little better
