Jesse Martinez: Hello, Blugolds. I'm Jesse Martinez.
Ginna Roe: I'm Ginna Roe. We're back again this week to bring to you another Blugold Minute.
Jesse Martinez: One Minute. That's all the time we have to tell you what's new around here.
Ginna Roe: Let's not waste a second. Here we go!
Jesse Martinez: Congratulations to Chancellor James Schmidt on his inauguration this past Friday.
Faculty, staff, students, and representatives from around the nation, along with the general public, were on hand in the
Ojibwe Ballroom Friday for his inauguration ceremony. Dr. Schmidt is the eighth chancellor in the history of UW-Eau Claire.
Ginna Roe: This week is UW-Eau Claire's Veterans Week. Before the sun was up Monday, ROTC members were
planting hundreds of these small American flags across campus. They were put there to honor our student veterans.
Jesse Martinez: You can check out our home page to find a list of events taking place this week. That includes
the Teddy Roosevelt wild game feed and silent auction Saturday at the American Legion Club on Water Street.
Ginna Roe: We're proud of our veterans who have served our country, and we're proud to be named a military friendly school.
Jesse Martinez: Tuesday night at seven, the Women's and LGBTQ Resource Center will be showing the film
"Soldier's Girl." Head to the Woodland Theater in Davies to check it out.
Ginna Roe: Now for some Blugold sports. Women's hockey will face-off against UW-Superior at Hobbs Friday night at seven.
Jesse Martinez: Women's basketball is at home this week, too. The will take on Carroll University Friday in Zorn at eight.
They will continue their weekend at home against Luther College Saturday night at five.
Ginna Roe: That's all we have for you this week. Check out our website, uwec.edu for more news and events.
Jesse Martinez: And make sure you "like" us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter.
Ginna Roe: Have a great week Blugolds! We'll see you next week for another Blugold Minute.
