What’s the sentiment on the ground afer the death of Laura Pollan?
After the death of Laura Pollan, who was for more than 8 years the undisputed leader of the pacifist and feminist movement “Women in White,” there has been a feeling of indignation.
Many people speculate if it was lack of medical attention that could have led to her death of a curable disease in this country.
But I also think the most important thing we are feeling, besides those doubts and possible medical speculations, is a sense of unity.
Pain sometimes has more power than political principles or ideological doctrines.
In this case, Laura Pollan has served as a unifying element in the big differences of the many matrixes that exist in the civil society of Cuba, in the opposition, and in the dissent.
