Have fun!
I just learned that there's a better method for
putting the modules together
and I quickly wanted to demonstrate that.
I simply took the model apart
that I assembled in the other video.
Before I told you to
do the following:
Just put one module into the other one.
A small detail that will
make it much easier is to
take this tip here,
it's a pocket in itself,
and this is basically also a flap.
So they're each both a latch and pocket at the same time.
You can put it together like this
and then you can
put these flaps into the pockets on the side.
Then it's a really tight fit.
And then you can continue with the other modules.
Like this the model
won't fall apart
even while assemblying.
I'll complete this one now
to show you that it'll be
much easier this way.
I'm sure you'll find this helpful, too.
Thanks again to Doris and Hans-Werner,
who pointed this out to me.
Of course now
that it's a bit more stable
you have to pay attention to how you add modules.
You really have to insert
the flap completely into the pocket,
so push it all the way to the edge,
and then you have to bend the paper a bit
to insert it into the pockets.
And indeed this way
there will not be a hole in the center.
Hans-Werner had asked me:
"How did you manage to get a hole in the center?"
Now I understand why he was confused.
With this much more robust assembly method
it's basically not possible anymore
to leave a hole in the center.
If you like having a small hole in the center,
then you'll have to use the instable
method I used in the other video.
But I think it's better to
use this more stable method.
We're almost done now.
Always be careful to first insert the latch like this,
push the flap in completely,
and then insert the other flaps into the pockets.
I'll update the diagrams, too.
I just wanted to quickly
record this video response
so that you, the viewers,
don't have as much trouble with putting the model together.
And the final module.
I'm curious how well it will work
to add the final module.
First pull the flap to the front and place it in the center,
then open this a bit.
This is the first time I'm trying out this
assembly method,
I wanted to make a quick response.
Now push everything together and
- indeed, it worked perfectly.
Now you can again push here
- all the way around -
to get a stronger 3D effect.
And then the model is done.
Viel Spaß noch!
