welcome in this video
I will be walking you through how to create and use
a printing account at the wake Technical Community College Libraries.
First, you will need your student ID card and your ID number.
To create your account
you'll need to go to the library with your student ID
and create an account at the activation
and add value station. This station
has a card reader and a touchscreen. You'll need to scan your card
at the card reader and follow the directions
on the touchscreen. AfterAfter you scan your card
the touchscreen will display, "Create a new
user account?" Please touched the red checkmark
over yes on the touchscreen. You will then be taken to a screen
That reads, "Payment options." At this time
thinking is free for school-related activities.
You do not need to add any money to your account.
Simply press the red "x" button on the bottom
right corner this screen. You now
have a Wake Tech printing account for the libraries. Now that you have
a printing account, you need to login to one of the library
computers using your key account. This is the same
account username and password you used for Blackboard,
Moodle, and your school email.
To walk you through the rest of the printing process, we will use the most common
document printed at the library,
a Word document. Once you have typed
or opened your document, you'll need to go to the top
left corner of the screen to the file tab
on the menu ribbon, then select print.
The library computers are set
to default to double-sided printing.
When you click on the print button, a blue pop up box will appear
in front your document where you will need to type in
your student ID number and name for this print job.
If you do not know your student ID number
you can take your card to the librarian at the desk
where it will be scaned and and we will write down your ID number.
The ID number you type in
must match the ID number on your card.
After you have typed in your student ID number and name,
please click the print the print button
on the bottom right side of the pop-up screen.
A second pop-up window
will now appear describing your print job. It includes the total cost
and the balance on your card. At this time
printing is free for school related activities.
The screen asks, "Will you accept this charge?"
Please select yes. You will now need to take your student ID
and go to the Pharos print release station. The print
release station is a special computer with a card
reader attached from where you will release your document to the printers.
This computer has a home screen
that reads, "Pharos Station."
ou will need to scan your card card at the card reader.
When you scan your card a list of all the documents sent to the printer
using your ID number in the last hour will appear.
