Hovered above the boat and we could see
there was one man on deck and
we didn't know how many people were onboard at that point.
So the pilots, they decided not to put me on the boat because the
mast was swinging around so violently. It was
a 50 foot sailboat mask and
some good wind chop and some big swell, so it was rocking
back and forth, back and forth. It had the cables coming off the sail.
So they just put me in the water and I swam up to the boat.
Climbed up on it. We decided against hoisting
them because the mast,
the cables and everything, it could have gone bad. And at that point
their anchor was still holding and
we just made a plan that we were just going to wait for the boat.
So we just waited for about thirty minutes.
There was a big barge ship and they kind of put
their lee on us, so the wind and all the
swell, so it kind of cut the swell down a little and it helped us.
It was pretty stressful. We're passing a 6-month old
across boats when they're rocking at different rates.
It was pretty scary. But we got everybody across.
