I heard you are great when it comes to Coleman furnace troubleshooting. Could you help me
out for a bit with mine, since my wife is pregnant and our house is freezing cold?
Oh, that sounds terrible. Sure I can help you out, just tell me what the problem is,
and I'll see what I can do to make it better.
First of all, I just want to say that I have tried doing some troubleshooting on my own,
but my furnace just doesn't work. I think some roaches got stuck in somewhere inside
it.
Ha ha, roaches aren't responsible for everything in this world. If I were you, I would first
of all check if you have full power going to the furnace itself.
I'm not sure about this.
If you're not sure, then check for the fan switch on the T-stat, and then turn it on.
If you hear the blower kicking in, then it means you have power going into the furnace.
Alright.
Next, you need to remove the t-stat carefully, and then jumper the W and R wires. If after
you do this your system fires off, then the problem is with the t-stat.
Sounds great, what do I do next though?
Well, now you need to ensure that the service door for the blower is on all the way. Just
check behind it, and you'll find a safety switch.
OK, go on.
If you have jumpered the W and R wire at the sub base, and the system does not fire, take
a closer look at the control board. That is where the t-stat wires tie up to.
OK. I think I can figure that out.
All you have to do is jump the W and R, and bear in mind that in order to turn the power
back on, you may have a door switch you need to press. Good luck with it.
I didn’t know you can be this helpful, but I'm glad you were. I'll let you know what
happened after I get home and use these Coleman furnace troubleshooting instructions.
Glad I could help you man, take care!
