Well, this is basically a luxury problem:
I'm having two amazing cars here,
but I can only drive one.
So I had to call someone,
and I was doubting and doubting who to call.
But then I got Sasha on the phone.
- This is pure enjoyment, it's an amazing car!
He was all like, I want that so so much
because I'm such and AMG fanboy.
I must say, this is the best Christmas bonus
that Autoblog could have gotten for me!
So I said go ahead, I will then drive the best car of the duo.
Simply said, the SLS is just a very fast Mercedes SL.
Sure, that's about the same as saying that
Doutzen Kroes is a very young Monique Sluyter.
The configuration is a little different
and one is a little more exclusive than the other.
I don't mean that there's something wrong
with Monique Sluyter, don't get me wrong.
For our younger viewers: check her out on Google.
I mean, take a look at the shape of the SLS,
and the engine is in the front.
It is actually a middle engine because
the engine placed behind the front axis.
This means that there's a lot of useless space in the front.
It's also much larger than the R8,
and the R8 is a "proper" supercar with the engine in the back.
Who cares about supercar layout,
it's all about what attracts you to it.
Besides of that, not all women have the perfect supermodel layout,
but there are still a lot of good ones walking around.
I must admit to one thing, the SLS is faster than the R8.
And that is mainly because of the gearbox.
The R8 has an automatic gearbox,
I've never been a huge fan of it, but it's doable.
But one clutch against two clutches
of the SLS makes it an unfair battle.
This is basically a sportive GT,
although it has a very good handling.
But I think this car is a little more suitable for assertive cruising,
as you do in a Gran Turismo, instead of continue hitting it.
There we have him again.
Concerning our, who has the longest, competition:
I'm still holding some trumps in my sleeve.
For example, I'm having more cylinders:
10 to be precise and they are sounding amazing.
Really, the sound is outstanding,
just as you want it to be from a supercar.
And it continues until 8200 rpm.
When you try this in a SLS, with its massive and raw V8,
the whole thing will fall apart.
Furthermore, it is possible to get an R8
equipped with only LED lighting.
So every light you see is LED.
Try getting that at the Mercedes dealer.
We can try to strong-arm each other,
but in the end the SLS is the fastest one.
That is partly because of the gearbox,
which shifts gears as gentle as a Switch watch.
And this goes so fast that at the moment
of changing gear, this car immediately takes the lead.
I think that this is the SLS that you want to own.
The Gull-wing doors, how cool they might be.
Cool is good, but the Gull-wing doors
are cool just like Batman's cape is cool.
It is looking good in the movie,
but when you put it on to the supermarket: not so cool.
