Hello, in this video I'm going to introduce you to the Reminders App. The white icon with
five color dots on it is
the one you'll want to tap. On the left side you can see
the list of reminders. I have my linked to my Hotmail account calendar
and my iCloud. iCloud allows you to link
all your iDevice reminders together. There's also a Scheduled list that shows
all of your Reminders in one place. Now I'm going to tap
on my iCloud list and select reminders.
I have four items in this list as you can see.
To create a new reminder you just need to tap on a blank line
and a keyboard will appear.
I'm going to type in "go to
library" and as you can see on the right there's an "i" with a circle around it.
If you tap on that gives you options you can choose from.
We are going to say "remind me in a day" so we're gonna make sure that
is green. We're going to set this for
Thursday. You just roll your finger
back and forth for the time and the day and
you can repeat it if need be. And we're not going to set it for this
though.
And you can set a priority. You can
put it in a certain list. I'm just going keep it in my iCloud reminders
and go back to the top where it says details to go back.
And then you can add a note.
"Get book" and then tap Done
In the right corner there and now you have a reminder set.
Now I'm going to show you how to create a new list for your reminders.
At the bottom of your list tap Add List. Now on the white
page a keyboard will appear and you can type the name of your list. Which I'm
going to call this Department Meetings.
You can change the color
of your text by tapping on the color dots below and then tap
Done when you're done and over on the left can see under iCloud
it added Department Meetings to the lists. Now tap in the white space to begin
Your first reminder
I'm just going to type in meetings and you can go back over to the circle
what the "i" in it and you can say Remind Me on a Day.
Make sure that's green and you can go in and set your alarm.
I'm just going to leave it at that right now on and then
I'm going to tap Done in the top right
up by Details there. Now
on the left under my list you can see that as
a number one to show you that you have one item in that list.
Now I will tap on the word Scheduled
and this is going to show you all your scheduled reminders in one area.
Let's say that I already went to the library
so to show that I completed that I'll just tap in the little circle
to make it blue and now it moves it to the top
of the list to show that it's completed. At the bottom of the page you see Show
Completed.
If you tap on that you can see all the different
items that you have had scheduled that you have completed.
To hide those tap "Hide Completed".
If you would like to delete a list you created, just go back
to the gray area in the bottom corner and tap Edit.
Some red dots with lines will appear next to the lists. Just tap
on the Red Dot. I'm going to do it for my department meetings
and you'll see delete appears. Tap Delete
and its going to prompt you. Would you like to cancel this or delete it.
I'm going to go ahead and delete it and that removes it from my lists.
If you'd like to search for an item, there's a search bar at the top of the
screen. You can just tap on that and type an item you're looking for
and I'm going to type in "Test" and you can see that brings up any
reminder you have set with the word "test" in it so I can review it and that concludes
our introduction to the reminders app.
