Greetings, my respected viewers!
This is the second part of video about Nosgoth,
in wich I try to give some advice
for newbies.
Now it's time to tell you about humans.
The fact is, humans are harder to play
than vampires.
Statistics show that people
suck much more frequently.
Actually,
you can arrange all players in two
groups: those who like to play
both as vampires and humans,
and those who like playing vampires
but consider human gameplay as
an inevitable evil.
There is a simple explanation for that.
Vampire gamplay is proactive and attacking
Whereas human gameplay is passive and defensive.
Thus, let's start with this crossbow-gay, the Hunter.
His initial configuration is
almost ideal.
Bola is unexpendable,
and Explosive Shot. You can throw it onto
the roof which suspiciosly sounds
like a roaring hopper.
Or use it to finish off the opponent,
when you are out of ammo.
The only thing I would recommend to purchase
to begin with is
a high-damage Siege Bow
just like the one
I'm holding right now.
You'll have to reload more often,
but additional damage may save your ***
in one-on-one battle.
Wheny you're being attacked don't throw Bola right away.
Experienced enemy will try to dodge it
by jumping aside instinctively (as I already told
in previous video).
You first shoot one or two times,
this will lower his awareness.
You then throw your Bola (Q)
at him, since he is not going to dodge
any more.
Next, you shoot all your clip
and finally go with explosives (F).
Then act as situation demands...
This is tactics for a duel situation.
By the way, a good example with the Bola:
I didn't let the almost-dead enemy
to flee while being out of ammo, and the
Alchemist finished him.
Alright, let's continue.
If you witness an enemy tearing your teammate
apart - do not hesitate,
throw the Bola right away.
The top mastery with the Bola,
in my opinion, is the ability to
noose the sentinel, approaching your team.
Let's proceed to the Scout with his bow.
To play him really well you need to be
a headshot-guy,
a true sniper
and have a lot of FPS.
If you are like a PRO-CounterStriker,
then you try him.
If you are not, then forget it for a while,
choose another class.
Honestly speaking, I suck at playing as Scout.
Nevertheless, I would recommend
to replace standard bow
with enhanced one (War Bow),
which can knock down enemies
when fully charged.
It is fun to shoot sentinels with it
from the distance, if you are a sharp shooter.
One more popular gadget is a Turret.
Unlike standard Volley
which deals uniform damage
in the area,
Turret damage is centralized.
In other words, the enemy,
which is right near the turret
is truly *** up.
Can't tell you any specific tactics though.
If your enemy is far away,
then snipe him
with RMB. If he gets closer
right near your team, then use
all of your other abilities.
The Alchemist...
I happened to respawn really far from my team here,
so I have to sprint for a while...
I think, The Alchemist is optimal for
a newbie, or for those who consider
playing as human
as an inevitable evil.
You need not to aim well with her, just throw
your grenades everywhere and make firewalls (F).
But remember, do NOT detach from allies.
For further simplification
you can replace standard cannon
with Multicannon,
which throws three grenades simultaneously.
Speking of playing as humans in common,
the main thing is to stay in group.
And by that I do NOT mean
to flock up just fine inside
the effects radius
of some reaver's poisoned grenade.
It's quite enough to have all of your
teammates in the field of view,
in a distance of fine shot.
Easy and effective strategy for a newbie,
which ran into the map, not knowing what to do,
not knowing where to run - is to tail somebody,
like more experienced
player,
and follow him somewhere in the shadows
as a bodyguard. Watch him and wait
until he gets attacked, pounced for example.
Just like me. I muffed here
with the pounce, thought the grenade would stop him.
Nothing of the sort.
Finally, he hunted me down
like an antelope at a watering place.
So where were we? Right!
It is simple strategy to follow one of your
teammates like a tail.
Primarily, you should follow
the Scout.
Since while aiming, the Scout doesn't see ***
happening at his sides,
because his visual angle is reduced.
To heal at the shrine safely, you should
go at least in pair: one gets healed,
the others guard.
I've just shown you a bad example with
this reaver situation at water-place. Remember?
Ambush is highly possible near the shrines
involving some pouncing reavers.
When you are being finished right
at the shrine, it pisses you off, really.
Next, one more thing:
any attacks you do
and abilities you use
do not affect your
teammates.
Thus, the safest place on the battlefield,
is, for a wonder, inside the Volley area,
or near the Turret or inside the Firewall,
created by
your teammates.
What was this hopper thinking?
He attacked me, fully-healed,
while being
half-dead already.
Next, the most effective way to
dodge the bat's kidnap ability, in my experience,
is to run and jump (Space)
in HIS direction,
which will make the inclination angle
between you and sentinel as
close to vertical
as possible.
In this situation
he is unable to twist and somehow catch you,
because he can't fly,
vertically, or straight down.
Now let me tell you something about
countermeasurements. Scouts are fine
against the bats.
If you are skilled enough of course.
They snipe them from the distance.
Thus, when the bats
approach your team, they are already
half-dead.
Hunters with their heavy crossbows are
fine against Turelim tanks, because such a
huge beef is a good target for a Bola,
and then can be executed with Siege Bow.
Finally, Alchemists are counter-hoppers.
Their grenades deal damage even through
reavers' evasion blue skin.
Altogether,
like in "rock-paper-scissors",
I have this scheme:
the tank beats the scout, the scout beats the bat,
the bat beats the alchemist,
the alchemist beats the hopper,
the hopper beats the hunter,
and finally, the hunter beats the tank.
Now a few words about perks.
I recommend not to mid them at all.
At least when you are a newbie.
I mean, there are some given by default and that's it.
Both for vampires and humans.
Of course, if you are self-assured
and have saved some gold
you are free to experiment
and try to use perks as a countermeasure
when situation demads.
For example,
when the bats
*** you off with
Kidnap and Abduct abilities,
you can use Catlike Reflexes
to reduce the damage
taken from free fall.
Anyway, perks are the last thing
you should think of.
Spend your gold on modifying your character's
active abilities,
this is much
more important.
Apart from Team
Deathmatch, there is
a Siege mode
in this game.
It is essentially the same as
a deathmatch, except that humans gather
not in some random hideout,
but around specific points on the map
to the humans. Therefore, humans
have an advantage in this mode.
Maybe I will make
a Siege-dedicated video later.
Or may be not... Since there is not
much to tell about this mode apart from that
I already told.
I can't think of any
strategic or tactical
points specific
to this mode.
Pretty much the same *** happens there.
The only thing worth mentioning
is that when you die during the massive battle
you can try to trick
the vampires. You respawn for away
from the fight, leave your team
and run to the nearest
capture point
while nobody cares.
You may have time
to capture it while the others are busy
at the main battlefield.
Well, my video comes to an end just where
it started - near the Sarafan statue with
Ukrainean emblem.
That's all for now. May be I'll make
some additional
videos. However, I don't have any ideas
for it just yet.
It all depends on your response, my dear
viewer. Leave comments,
ask questions,
share this video with friends, etc.
Bye! Oh, and...
Vae Victis!
