Welcome to my size crown guide for Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate!
In this guide I'll be showing you how to quickly obtain a lot of size crowns.
To obtain all crowns you need to have reached G-Rank, favorably HR8+.
To make this trick more efficient, one voluntary player that will not get the crowns is needed. Otherwise you might just duplicate your savestate on a 3DS or borrow one from a friend.
For this guide I duplicated my savestate on my 3DS so no worries about two Vuze hunters in the following scenes.
As mentioned before, one person should be resetting and opening the quests the whole time in order to make this procedure more efficient.
Thus it would be a good idea not to make this person the city host.
To fix the crown size the 2x Great Wroggi quest is recommended since it can be finished quickly (~5min solo).
You could just use any other quest that yields gold crowns though, most solo G-monster quests do.
What's important for two monster quests like 2x Great Wroggi is that only the size of the first monster matters for this trick.
First (and important) Great Wroggi spawns in area 2, second one in area 7.
You can easily determine which is the first monster by checking the target camera. First one is first, second one second monster.
Apart from that just finish your quest until you receive your desired size crown.
Now the trick: the host of the quest MUSTN'T save at the end of the quest but quit and reset the game (and eventually rejoin the room).
Crown size should be fixed now; every quest that the "crown host" now opens should yield a kingsize respectively minisize crown.
There are a few things to consider however.
Not every quest yields kingsize and/or minisize crowns. In general, every G-rank solo quest does though.
Furthermore problems with subspecies or other monsters with high kingsize limit may occur.
Such monsters are Deviljho, Great Baggi and Gigginox for example.
For quests with two monsters at the same time the aforementioned rule applies. So only the first monster will be influenced by the fixed crown.
Same for continous hunting quests.
For solo players it could be interesting that you can just get yourself to fail the (dual/continous) quest after you've killed your target monster and still get the crown.
That's it actually - not too complex at all. Tested it a few times and got myself the remaining miniature crowns this way.
As I mentioned before this doesn't work out 100% of the time when hunting for kingsize crowns but still better than random farming I guess!
Thanks for your attention and hope I could help you out! Have a nice day and see you soon!
