our first big setup
a coldfront
a trough was forecasted which
came from Nebraska through Kansas
east of Wichita,KS
to Kansas City should be initiation of storms
storm development
should be in the evening
our target was east of Wichita,KS
we met our friends from Italy
we had an eye at the models
at 5pm storms started to form
we headed to the north east
the first cell was 30 miles away
we reached the cell and got a few shots
the cell died very fast
it wasn't clear what will happen
we decided to wait for new storms
new radar data showed us a reorganisation
of the cell
to the south east
we had to drive around the whole cell
but we made it
we found a very good road
to get in front of the storm
we reached a new spot
suddenly we were surrounded by two cells
which developed very fast
one to our right and one to our left
with rotating updrafts
the left one with a nice mesocyclone
we didn't know where to view
it was very exciting
how the storms moved close to us
we got one cell in the southwest
and another one to our north east
we didn't know where to look
should we look at
the mesocyclone or at the wallcloud
we stand right in the middle of the two cells
it was great
because under the wallcloud
the sun sets
it was a great day
we had deep light
with sun under the cells
the storms weren't the strongest
which you can imagine but
everything worked very good this day
we intercepted every cell
without being in danger
a very good day with the storms
