I think, uh, probably what I have learned, and what he has taught me to do is to look
at a problem--a problem in society such as our education system--something that needs
to be improved, and learn how---
We all have this feeling that we sort of want to help, we want to make things better, but
um, working with him has shown me how you can apply the different academic techniques
that you learn here in the Truman School--research, literature review, using statistical software--put
that all together and actually contribute to the body of knowledge that is--that policy
makers look at and use these techniques that you're learning at the Truman School to actually
influence policymakers and policy decisions.
