Hi, I'm Kelli, I'm an aesthetician and makeup artist at Ulta Salon and Cosmetics. And I'm
going to talk to you today about what your complexion is. Basically your complexion consists
of the skin on your face, and what your undertones and surface tones are, basically the difference
between undertones and surface tones are your undertones are actually the color of your
skin. And surface tones are colors that may sit on the surface of your skin, such as redness,
hyper pigmentation, brown spots, those types of things are what you consider surface tones.
Undertones consist of whether you have a warm or a cool undertone. Warm undertones consist
of your more golden tones and your cool undertones consist of your more pink undertones. So one
way to find out is you can take - look in a mirror, hold a piece of paper, white paper,
up to your face, and you can see whether you see more gold or more pink, and that will
let you know whether you're more cool or warm. I'll show you a couple of examples of some
foundations that have different undertones to them. This one here is what you would call
a warm, you can see it has a lot of gold to it. Tried to choose ones darker than my skin
so you could actually see them. This one is what you would call a neutral, this one actually
has blends of both pink and golden undertones. And then this one is a cool. This one has
more of a pink undertone to it. So those are some examples of different complexions.
