Hi guys! I'm Kristyn and I'm going to be showing you today how to apply your Jamberry nails
in the traditional Jamberry recommended fashion. Uhh the items that you're gonna need are your
Jamberry heater, um your cuticle pusher, your alcohol wipe, your scissors, your nail file
and I like to use tweezers. Those don't come in the application kit, but I do find them
helpful, so. Umm obviously you're also going to need your fabulous Jamberry nail wraps.
Um ok. So first thing you're going to do - This is like thee most important step absolutely
- Is to make sure that your nails are prepped and cleaned because its vital to how long
your Jamberries are going to last. If you don't clean them very well then, you know,
your Jams aren't going to last that long and you're gonna call me in a couple of days and
say, "They're peeling and I don't know what happened." It's 'cause you didn't clean your
nails. k? So let's go ahead and take your cuticle pusher. You're gonna push back that
cuticle. Now, I actually already have our Strengthening Coat on my nails as well because
I have pretty weak nails and I LOVE our strengthening coat. If you're applying a fresh coat... If
you're applying your Jams over a fresh coat of the Strengthening Basecoat, then you're
probably fine. You can skip the alcohol swab, but I have had my Strengthening Coat on for
a couple of days, so I definitely need an alcohol swab...or an alcohol wipe to make
sure that my fingernail is nice and clean and that there's no oil or dirt or anything
on them. So um, my nail is filed to the shape that I want it, it's got the cuticle pushed
back. Now we're going to make sure that I get all that dirt and oil and gross off of
my fingernail. K. Then we grab our sheet of Jams and we're going to measure to see which
of the wraps is going to best fit your fingernail. Now you're definitely going to want to go
more on the side of small than on maybe a little bit too big for your fingernail for
a couple of reasons, but the biggest reason is that you don't want the wrap to touch your
skin at any point, so you would rather have the wrap be a little bit shorter, you know,
like not completely the width of your fingernail because you definitely don't want it to touch
your skin. If it does, you're going to get that oil and it's going to lift faster. So,
uh, this one looks like it's going to fit my pinky nail the best, so what I'm going
to do is kinda, see how I'm folding it in half like that? And it'll roll...the wrap
will roll off of that um.. the sheet. ok? So then you take your scissors. Kind of, see
if i can get in there... kind of try and measure or you know guesstimate about how long your
fingernail is and then cut a little bit long than than because you want it to hang off
of the end just a tiny bit. Ok. So I'm gonna go like this. Cut it off. This is where I
like to use the tweezers to make sure that I'm not touching the wrap at all because,
like I said, if you touch the wrap, just as if you are touching your fingernail, you're
going to get the oil from your fingers on the back of the wrap and/or your fingernails
and we don't want that. So I like to use the tweezers to grab it like just at the very
..ooh... just at the very tip. K? Now, Jamberry recommends ...let me make sure my heater is
on ... Jamberry recommends that you first hold the wrap in front of the heat and then
put it on your nail and you absolutely can do that. I personally like to put it on my
nail first and then heat up my, my fingernail with the wrap on it because it gives me a
little bit more control with the wrap when it's cooled. When you warm the wrap first
and then put it on, the wrap gets uh kinda flimsy and can kinda curl a little bit which
makes it a little bit more difficult to place it on your nail. So place it on your fingernail
while it's still cold and you want to place it pretty far back on your nail, but not totally
touching your cuticle or your skin 'cause, again, we don't want that oil stuff on there.
That's bad. Ok, so, now that it's kind of there. Oh. We're over to one side a little
bit more than we should be, so take it off, kinda move it back over, make sure you're
not gonna touch the skin anywhere. Good. K? good. So now that it's on there, go ahead
and stick it in front of the heater for your 3-5 seconds ish. Ok, so now that your wrap
is heated up, you're going to... Can you see it? Kind of weird? Uh, you're going to press
from the cuticle in the back and then you're going to move your finger, put a lot of pressure
on it and then go forward towards the tip. Ok? And then you're going to start in the
middle and go with a lot of pressure to the sides. Start in the middle and then go to
the sides. Don't be afraid to put pressure on it 'cause that's what's gonna do you some
good. Heat and pressure! That is the Jambery magic! Ok. So now we're on there pretty good.
Ok, ummm, so this is another part where, you know, like if you've got a little bit of excess
on your nails, a little bit of excess wrap, see how long that ... I don't need that. my
nails are not that long. So, i'm going to take my scissors and just trim, not all the
way to the nail. Like I said, not all the way to the nail, but this helps a little bit
with the filing process. Ok. So we're trimmed up a little bit, cooled down a little bit,
we've had that pressure. Good. Good. Ok. So now we're going to take our file. This is
also extremely important. Um when you're filing the excess off of your nail. See, I still
have plenty of excess. My fingernails are not that long. So when we're filing off the
excess, you want to make sure you're filing in a downward motion. Not an up and down,
not a side to side, or a diagonal or whichever way you want. You want it to go down. This
is going to keep the wrap on your fingernail, first of all, and it's going to take the wrap
all the way down to the tip of your fingernail so you don't have any of the excess. So, in
a downward only motion. Very.. Muy Importante! Ok. Downward only motion and then see? Just
like this. Can you see it? No? Blurry? It's, the excess starts to come off. Can you see
any of this? This looks horrible. First video. We're learning. Everybody's learning today.
Ok so file off that excess. Bink! Then voila! Ok? It's on there. Can you see it? Do we just
have a filthy, filthy camera lens? Ok. Anyways. Now that you've got your nail wrap on, for
the most part, we're going to go back in front of the heather for another 3-5 seconds to
make sure that any of the edges and the tip that we just filed off, make sure that the,
um, they're completely sealed to your nail and, you know, we're not going to have any
problems later. So. 3-5 seconds. And actually, I like to use, instead of just my finger,
I also like to call in my cuticle ...these things are awesome! The cuticle pushers from
Jamberry... awesome. I like to use my cuticle pusher to make sure I get extra, you know,
like in the corners and a good amount of pressure on there. So my wrap is warmed up again. Going
around the edges. Make sure those are sealed on there. So, heat and pressure and... you're
done! Well. You're done with this nail. You still have nine more to go BUT that's how
it goes. And it does typically ...It does typically go a lot faster when you're not
sitting here jabbering and such. So, yeah. That was my tutorial on the traditional way
to apply your Jamberry nails. Thanks for visiting. Bye.
