bjbjLULU This video will teach you how to draw a graffiti character step by step. All
that you need to do is follow the instructions and after completing eight steps, you should
have a pretty good drawing. I recommend that you watch the tutorial at the end to add color.
But, you can do this with just a pencil if you prefer. Here is the supply list of recommended
supplies. Lets get started. Step 1: Drawing graffiti characters is easy to learn if you
do it step by step. Start out by making this ice cream cone shape for the spray can. Step
2: Use the circle at the top of the spray can as a guide to help you draw the fingers.
Step 3: Draw the bomber jacket. Compare its height with the spray can. Step 4: Add on
the sagging pants and the boots. Step 5: Add the rectangle and the trapezoid for the head.
Also, don't forget about the ears. Step 6: Add and shade the shape for the eyebrows and
the upper eye lids. Step 7: Add the bottom of the eyes. Be sure that there is separation
between the upper eyelid and the iris. Step 8: Add the nose Hey everybody it's Merrill.

if I am making the type of video that you want. You could also leave comments. I read
all of the comments they do my best to answer as many as I can. The communication helps
a lot. It helps me to make good videos in the future. We are using the markers now.
You could do this only with pencil if you wish. You could use crayola markers. I am
using Ad Chartpak illustration markers and Prismacolor colored pencils. I am drawing
on watercolor paper. My markers are relatively expensive. They are sold for around two dollars
per marker. I recommend that you slowly accumulate your collection of these markers. They will
last you a long time. I will put a link in the video description if anybody wants to
purchase them. I think that they are worth it. They will last you a lot longer than school
markers. Now, I am showing you how to draw a graffiti character and how to layer these
markers. So far, I have used the number five marker which is the medium in tone......After
that I went to a number six which is darker in tone. So those details that you see; like
the sleeves. That is the number nine which is darkest in tone. These markers look darker
when they are first applied. Then it starts to dry and the tone gets lighter. I am using
the Ad Chartpak markers again for the hands. Markers on sketchbook paper will bleed. You
can use bleedless marker paper or watercolor paper. I'm doing a whole bunch of different
colors on the hand. "Kraft brown" was one color, another one was "suntan" and and these
are all colors that you could mix and match. The ones that I mentioned are two that I work
with. Uh... Some people just go with solid forms. That is OK. I like to get a whole bunch
of different colors because it seems to develop more depth. I used portrait pink for the fingernails
but i'm going to go over it with color pencils in a little while. The jacket and spray can
was actually the longest part. Believe it or not. I spent the most time on the sweater.
Those of you who have seen my videos know that I usually spend the most time on faces.
Doing the face is definitely my favorite part. You could take a break pause the video whenever
you want. Draw your graffiti character at your own pace. Sometimes these are called
graffiti cartoons by the way. Use whatever drawing, painting and illustration supplies
that you have and go at your own pace. I will set up a full supply list in the video description
up with a link so that you can check that out. On the pants I used a color called electric
blue (to start the saggy jeans) Then I started using at the five and the six grey marker
just like I did with the bomber jacket. Bombing 2011. Once again, on top I am using Prismacolor
colored pencils. Prismacolor has a bunch of different blue colored pencils which are great
for drawing graffiti characters. It is starting to look like my character is going to show
you haw to draw graffiti. Basically I decide to use the darker blue on the edges and the
lighter blue on the highlights. I didn't use the white to burnish. I use the blender marker
to move around the colored pencil. The blender marker has uh... no color it's basically alcohol
without pigment. Pigment is color, like in the spray paint cans. The Chartpak marker
blender has the alcohol in there doesn't have the color And it actually spreads the Prismacolor
pencils. Use thick enough paper such as watercolor paper. Black book / tag book paper is inadequate
for these markers. Forget the thin stuff and use another sheet of paper. uh... You dont
want your color to get totally saturated. You don't want that. You see me using uh...
just a Sharpie pen to adjust for the yet the fine details. Unlike when we do portrait drawing.
You know and you see links to some of my portrait videos to the left there. uh... unlike what
we do portraiture, it's ok if what you're doing looks stylized. It is a graffiti character.
You can outline it. It is a very different aesthetic than a traditional portrait. I actually
prefer this process. Many of you have ever seen my artwork before. This is a lot closer
to what I do so i've really, really enjoyed making this uh... drawing. Same process with
the face that i did with the at the jeans and the uh... the body and the spray can cc
me edit a layer of um... marker then you see me had a layer of colored pencil uh... and
then you see me uh... spread it with the booklet the um... marker blended uh... i recommended
in red under the as it makes you look at lake really really uh... pso guided that i thought
that was a nice touch uh... i'm tying everything together and then you get to see how i did
it the uh... the shades at the time he west shades uh... in a second we have to finish
the face first and um... it's that really interesting what do you use that colored pencils
uh... can i get the shadows first and then you at the the later areas uh... it it suppresses
called burnish inc uh... would you put the when he put away colored pencil over an area
and it's its very weird for those people painted before could you actually do the mixing right
on the surface i'm putting the final touches on and then i am going to scan my during a
have a scanner my studio scan it into my computer and i'm gonna finish this digitally so here
we go you see me and i think i'm putting out that the these have been popular i take each
in schools and uh... that i see these popping up all over the place uh... so i decided to
add them uh... also that thing with the hair if you know the uh... the british section
of the hair a lot of the kids to have that now sell uh... like this saturday at that
too but on basically a cut out the glasses and i cut the uh... areas in between and i
what i worked *** the eyes i want that the kind of pop through so i a made sure that
uh... the areas in between work thin enough and hear uh... ice and everything else eight
sticker file uh... api angie file and those are some of my other characters anyway hope
you like this uh... if you want to see more of this uh... please leave me comments dot
thumbs up uh... and if you haven't done so already please subscribe thanks for watching
