Hi, I am John Wilke. I am a senior economics major here at UGA.
I really had my first sales exposure as a sales associate with RadioShack in high school.
I was mostly selling cellphones and really enjoyed getting to see a customer
come in and here the criteria they were looking for in a cellphone
and then match up whatever product we had with their needs. And then to see them
fulfill that need
that they had when they walked through the door.
So that was my first sales experience.
Then through an internship I had in college for two summers, I was working with a national CPA firm
I was very lucky that a big part of what my manager did was
business development.
He was good enough to let me tag along to various conferences
meetings, and seminars and really kind of see him in action. He had over 20 years of
experience in
shaking hands and handing out business cards and building up that
organic growth for the firm.
It was very cool to see
translation from something simple like a cell phone to something very large
such as professional services.
When I saw the Kauffman tire posting I knew I was very interested because that is the direction
I want my career to go in,
with sales.
To be able to meet
customers needs on a large scale the way Kauffman does
and deliver that
excellent kind of services is definitely something that I want to do.
I just wanted to find out a little bit more about the position.
