Transparency in GIMP and Photoshop
GIMP, add an Alpha Channel
In GIMP,
if you open
a .bmp
there's no way to add transparency directly to a file that does not support transparency
The first step is to right click,
go to Layer
Transparency
and Add an Alpha Channel
Now, if we choose our eraser
we can erase to reveal some transparency
Remember, we will have to save this in a format that saves transparency such as .gif
In GIMP, you will EXPORT as a .gif
GIMP
