Hello, my name is Mark Blocker with Expert Village. In this segment we're going to cover,
go over the interior fuses for automobiles. We've already went over through basic diagnosing
testing of the exterior fuses. Interior fuses are primarily the same. There just going to
be found in a different location and operate different circuits. This information, once
again, can be found in your owner's manual and I'll try and describe it to you cause
it's hard to get a visual because of the tight operating spaces. The owner's manual will
give you references. Your kick panels are where your feet would be on the left and right
side as your feet. Those are what's described as a kick panels. Under the dash it'll give
you a description for a center steering column under the dash. That's very directly below
the steering wheel. These are areas that's going to direct you to look for that fuse
box. And that fuse box usually will have a little plastic cover on there that should
indicate fuses written on it. That cover is just a beautification cover to keep the interior
looking good and you just remove that cover and that would give you access to the fuses.
And the test procedure is virtually the same. Identify the circuit you're having a problem
with, identify the location of the fuse, determine it's amperes rating, conduct the test, determine
the bad fuse, replace the fuse. And it's the same procedures used externally except for
you're doing it in a much more confined area, and harder to get accessibility, less accessibility.
So you'll need to take some extra precautions, you might want to have some mats for your
knees because you'll have to get down on your knees to get access to the ones up in the
kick panels and these can be hard to see so a flashlight's good to have and you just got
to pay extra attention to make sure you're on the correct circuit cause it's real easy
to get on the wrong fuse number cause of the tight spaces and the inability to access it
the access to those fuse locations. It's a little bit more difficult inside the vehicle
so take a little extra time and make sure you're on the right circuit cause it's real
easy to get off and get into the wrong circuit and you're diagnosing the wrong circuit and
you wont get correct information or accurate results. Thank you for watching and please
watch our other videos in the automotive repair categories.
