Hear that motorcycle behind me? Ok, I'm going to show you what makes e-bikes
awesome in traffic. There he goes, Ducati man.
Ok, I admit, this audio track is over-dubbed at home. I don't get quite such clear an audio
track on the bike. Ok, we stop at the light.
Ok, Here we go again. You can see up ahead of me there is another
cyclist on the road.
And, there goes the Ducati guy again.
And, I catch up to the tatooed guy on the BMX.
He's got his headphones on, listening to music, and not paying much attention to traffic.
There's a few too many cars going by for em to feel comfortable passing him right yet,
so I just slow down and stay behind him. And, now I pass when I get a chance, and move
back over into the right lane. Oh, and there's Ducati Guy again.
There he goes again. I just want to make a note here that I have
not made any performance related modifications to this e-bike.
It is stock engine, stock controller. I haven't even touched the governor wire.
This is just a speed limited, 32km/h power-assisted bike. Scooter-style.
And of course, it slows down going up hills, That's alright because there is a light at
the top of this hill anyway. Actually, it's not alright. That means I have
to stop part way up the hill, and getting started again on an up-hill isn't fun.
You can see the guy on the Ducati a few cars ahead of me.
This isn't even particularly heavy traffic, we're out in the suburbs here.
There he is again. Nice bike.
That car was nice enough to wave me on. I guess they just assumed I was with the Ducati Guy.
It's not unil he gets a nice wide-open street
that he pulls away a little bit. That's why 32km/h is good enough for stop
and go traffic. It gets you there just as fast as a sport bike.
