okay
just finished my round of single crochets
now this is the time you want to lay this out
on the bed on the floor
and i'll show you some pictures of how i did it
where you have three
of those granny squares on top
or any six inch granny squares
and then you'll have four
along the wider side
so
and you'll have one in each corner
so you'll need a total of
counting....sixteen eighteen
a total of eighteen
granny squares
so once you've gotten them laid out how you want them
this is going to be my front side here
grab your tree granny squares that you want for this
top section
so these are mt three that i've chosen
you will have one in each corner as well. But these are the three that I have to fit my top section.
what you want to do is line it up here
like this
and you want to
mark
where you need your granny sqauers to be
mark the first one
you will have to stretch them slightly to fit into place
make it as even as possible
I want this granny to start here
theh I want my next one
to start here
and of course my other one will start from teh corner
just make sure and double check
i think that's about right
so when your sewing this one you want to make sure that you strtch it ot meet where the other
square should start
and you can single crochet however you like
make sure you have your right side facing
you can fold your garnny square down and sew it like this
or you can sew it with the granny facing you
hide your tails of your squares before you sew them on
to police and
I have an idea
I'm going to align my corners together
and use my marker to anchor it in place
putting my hook through my stitch on my granny and my afghan
and close it
that way you don't have to keep worring about it not stretching out enough
okay i'm going to do the single crochet method just because
I like the look of it
so single crochet like this or
if you also like the border it leaves,
single crochet it with both right sides facing you
and we're going to start in one corner
whoops, you need to go
into the stitch on your afghan first, then through the corner of your granny square
and single crochet
then go into the stitch on your afghan and then into the following stitch on your square
and single crochet
you want to do a few stitches of
single crochet then you want to check
to make sure that this is good
make sure it's still aligned well
i have to skip a stitch
to keep it aligned well
just keep lining it up until you get to the end
moving my marker and single crochet into the last stitch
that's the last stitch I need for this one
get your next one
attach it with your marker as well
so it doesn't move
the stitch before this marker
find my corner on this one
pull it through both
and attach it together again as before
again align them up
starting in my very next stitch from
the other granny ended
and single crochet
then again making sure
it's aligned
as best as you can
and single crochet attach this square
every few stitches recheck
to make sure it's still aligned
now i'm going to single crochet this last stitch here
just to make it easier for myself here
i'm going to get a marker
and in my very corner here
of my blanket
get the corner top
and the corner of this one
and ancor it there
get the corner
and single crochet. continue on every few stitches stretch it out like you did the others
I just got done sewing on my last one here
then grab your next four that you have picked out
for your side of the blanket
not your corner pieces yet
and your going to
align these up
the same exact way that you did
the top ones
putting your markers in between
so i'm going to try to do my best to
line them up
as even as i can
giving it some stretch room
so i'm going to start with this one
in the corner
trying to stretch it out
at this side
let me find my markers
attach it like before
and my next one
starting from here
then from this next stitch here
where we want this one to go
and stretch it out a bit
and mark anchor it on this side
then the next one starting from the
very next stitch here
attaching to my corner
stretch it out
make sure to stretch it until it's good and stretched but not where it's
not
transforming the look of it
to much
when you think you've got a good spot
anchor it down
i need one more marker
make sure when you strtch it it doens't take the corner away to much
I think I will need to adjust it some
because you really need to have
side here
be even
i think i can make this work though
if i pull this one over just a little
just have to keep that in mind
I will need to move this over at least one stitch
just because it's going to be a little short if i don't
i don't want it to tug to much
on the end
on this side
so this one can't be stretched to far
so this once i will have to move over one stitch
and then i think i can make it pretty
I have to do the same with my other squares too
make sure this other square can still stretch to the corner, and it can so i'm good on this side too.
so keep messing around with them until they are even on the sides
because you will need to attach another square in the corners of each side
so your going to be
attaching it exactly how you did the others on the top
check it every few stitches
keep it straight
single crochet
and then make sure to align it
I just got done sewing on my last one
and again
the top side and the
bottom side you will need three squares and on the sides you will need four
just continue all the way around
until you get all the way around all of your
blanket and i'll show you how to attach
the corner ones and
how to sew the squares together
