After six years of constant court action,
the tribe is ending 2012 free of court battles.
Tom Roa, chair of the Tainui tribal executive Te Arataura,
believes the division that has wracked the tribe
in recent years is settling.
For over six years, Waikato-Tainui has constantly been in court
right up until every Christmas.
But this Christmas we're not.
This year alone
legal bills are understood to have cost $230,000.
There's now a drive to change the tribe's constitution
to stop legal action in settling tribal politics.
