minnesota as i mentioned last week is set to legalized marriage equality to
daddy at five p_m_ democratic governor mark dayton who has pledged to sign the
bill
has scheduled the ceremony on the front steps of the capital in saint paul to do
with
to do the tend to do the deed lewis to to get this thing signed this is of
course after the um...
uh... legislature in minnesota signed off on becoming the twelve u_s_ state
we're gay and lesbian couples can get married and this this is just fantastic
minnesota is now the first state in the midwest to legalize marriage equality by
legislative vote
and the third nationwide in ten gays in the last ten days joining rhode island
and delaware as we know this is of big big-deal only one republican senator in
minnesota voted in favor of this that the brandon peterson
and three democrats from rural districts voted against it
yet another bub box being check plus plot of states recently a lot of states
and we've talked about this it's been years we've been talking about us and we
predicted economic we were incredibly uh... we weren't psychic by any means by
saying
once this gets rilling
the rate at which states legalize marriage equality is going to tolerate
we now have and i'm gonna try to get this right this time there's less than a
mess up at least we have new england right we have main new hampshire vermont
rhode island maryland in connecticut that is now a solid block of marriage
equality that's a big deal
in addition to that we have the state of new york
we have delaware maryland iowa washington state we are adding minnesota
and of course washington d_c_ twelve states plus washington d_c_
i don't know i i i realize we're going to get to a limit right and i was
massachusetts and new england
not not mer
uh... bright absolutely um... we have um... finally had initially maryland
will have time to yet what is it with merrill and i don't know i'm having some
kind of initiative
we have now
more
momentum but i don't think that this is going to carry through the fifty states
in the same uh... at the same rate of speed for obvious reasons threat which
is that
we're going to get to the red states
which are going to not tak pass this with flying colors it's gonna be very
different situation but again it's going to build this two countries
uh... dichotomy which is increasingly visible and and when that starts to
happen when more and more of the blue states have have uh... equalize marriage
that is going to start to become the issue what what it's going to happen in
red states when we talk about the red states we usually say there are
you know probably like a few hundred years behind aware we are in
massachusetts oakley doesn't take that long to uh... to get a quality in these
uh... archaic states actually
