Hi. I'm Alana Gray from Bathware.com.au. Today we're going to talk about
shades of white in your bathroom.
Often, people are wondering whether the white between their
toilet suites, basin and bath are different shades;
whether it's something they should be concerned
about or something that you don't need to worry about
so the question is,
"Are the shades of white different?"
and the answer is yes
different brands will have slightly different
shades of white so
that's something you need to understand.
Does it really matter?
Really, not so much.
I think the most important thing is you choose products that you
like
like-products that fit
that have the right plumbing and so on and so forth, the right features
but having said that, if you are going for a particularly vintage traditional style
bathroom
you would be more inclined to go for warmer white kind of color.
If you're going for cutting edge, contemporary,
sharp
kind of design
then you would go for cooler kind of whites,
cool whites are greyer and
warmer whites are creamier.
so
If this is something that you're concerned about then
an idea would be to, perhaps, when you
find the
product that you like you can find out whether it's warm or cool by
by comparing it to another shade of white
so I've got some samples here:
So this is dulux, whisper white-this is one of the more popular colors,
it's seems white to me
but when you compare it to lexicon
you can see that it's not as white as lexicon
likewise when you compare it to
cotton tail,
these are all popular colors, you can see that the cotton tail is warmer so
the naked eye
generally sees white as white
so
that's why I don't think it's a particularly big issue unless you're going for a particular
style in your bathroom.
If it is a stark difference though when it's compared to another white, you'll be able to see it.
So if it's sitting side by side and you've got a particularly warm white and a particularly
cool white, you might be able to see it.
My feeling is
it's not something that you should be overly concerned with.
There are ways of trying to mix it up so that it's not noticeable. You can
look at the lighting if you are concerned that one product is particularly warm.
You can make the other product warm through having
warmer light over the top of
the product that you're concerned is a bit cool
Likewise, I think if you break it up, really it's only when it's '***' side by side,
that you can notice if a white is different to another white so if you
have
have another shade of white in between and it's deliberate then people won't
notice it, It's not obvious to the naked eye.
I think that renovating is stressful enough
so don't sweat the small things.
It's important to have perspective and not to go crazy and out of your mind when
renovating.
That's our weekly wrap
from Bathwaredirect.co.au. Thanks. See you next week.
