- 1968 I start on this beautiful building.
That year was, er, unforgettable
because I met my beautiful wife,
we married, and then I met the second wife,
the beautiful icon of the world,
the Sydney Opera House.
- It's the most amazing, beautiful location in the world.
I fly into Sydney nearly every week
and there's nothing better than flying over Sydney and seeing that Opera House
and you just know that you're home.
- As an ensemble performs in a venue, that becomes part of the performance.
The environment, the fantastic architecture and the audience,
the combination of those three things mean everything as a performer.
- My favourite moments on this building?
Every day. Every day I come with happiness here.
Because if you have a deep love with a building,
you have always got favourite moments every day.
- I feel this Opera House is a celebration.
It's a celebration of architecture, art, life.
Everywhere you look, there's people celebrating something of life.
- Do I feel attached to the Opera House? Yeah, I do, yeah.
Yeah, I feel really attached to it. It's where I come every day.
And I never take it for granted. Every time I look at it,
I always think how beautiful it is. It's just such an iconic, beautiful building.
It makes me feel very proud to be Australian.
- For me, the Opera House was my life.
And I wish to the Opera House, my second lady...
..a happy birthday
and health forever.
