In two separate announcements on Wednesday, the government and the nation's largest conglomerate
put forth plans to boost the nation's employment rate.
On the government side, plans to hire more than 15-thousand public officials as part-time
workers by 2017 were announced. This falls in line with the President Park
Geun-hye's goal of reaching 70 percent employment rate.
The application process will begin before the year ends.
Samsung Group on the same day announced that they will hire a total of 6-thousand people
as part-timers at its affiliates in some 120 different job fields by this coming January.
They will specifically be targeting the employment of women who left their jobs to start families
and middle-aged people who are having difficulties finding work.
