Welcome back ladies and gentlemen and all the nasheed fans
Our guest the Islamic singer Ahmed Bukhatir is joining us in the studio of 'Sabah Al-arabia' programme
Thank you for having me and congratulation my congrats to all the viewers on the occasion of Eid & a very happy Eid
Thank you and Happy Eid too.
Ahmed, would you tell us why did you choose this career as we all know You've been singing for a long time now?
In the beginning it was a hobby and I never thought I'll become an Islamic singer.
But the encouragement of my family and my friends I could give something to help people find virtue.
keep people far from immorality and encourage youth to develop good ethics and Islamic values
Alhamdulilah in 1999 I made my first album and people liked it. So, I felt that I can go forward in this career
You know, nowadays, the voice of the singer is not that important
Because sophisticated equipment can enhance any voice and anyone could become a singer
Is it important for the Islamic singer to have a good voice?
It is, there are no instruments to cover the dissonant tunes.
In my singing, I give more importance to the words, than to the melody and at last to my performance
in all my songs, there are no musical instruments
Nothing to camouflage your voice
This is to prove that we can have great Islamic songs without musical instruments or sound effect
Could you sing a segment of your choice before we move forward?
I spend the night calling 'O my son come back to me' I used to spend the night sleepless, My son come back to me
Come back to me my dear as pure as you were
I would like to see you before I face death
Despite the distance my heart is still with you
Nice and emotional.
As we know, Islamic songs cover a large variety of Topics. What are you focusing?
First, it was about glorifying God and praying for the prophet Mohammad - peace be upon him- and Islamic ethics
Then I focused on the social matters that people are suffering from
Like parents' disobedience, wrong choices of youth
People are calling me now the "Singer of Family" because my goal is the family
I tried to work on topics that others were neglecting
Like hospices, parents' disobedience, handicaps
I tried to have an impact on people for handicaps' feeling and the pity look we have for them
how they still living happily despite of their handicap
We'll come back after this song
O son, O son
You're the radiance of my eyes
You're more precious to me than my soul and sight
You rejoice my anxious heart
What a beautiful time it was when you were young
Laughing and eagerly gazing at me
The actor Hassan Yusuf is in the video clip.
How could video clips help to expand the Islamic songs
Video clips are now: in houses, in cafeterias, everywhere…
It's true that people could buy audio cassettes for Islamic songs
but it's easier to remember the song if it's a video clip holding a story
-It's the picture era -Exactly!
Some people say that an Islamic song shouldn't be illustrated by a video clip. Do you agree with that?
All my songs have subjects illustrated in video clips by emotional stories
Are there events for Islamic songs like festivals and concerts for ordinary songs for which you're invited to?
Naturally, yes, like this year I was invited for 6 concerts in Australia, South Africa, India, Yemen, Kuwait and even in Great Britain
I was surprised to have 20 thousand of audiences for my first concert in Great Britain
-Arabic community? -Arabic and Islamic community.
We knew that you sing in English also
In English and soon in French
Could you sing a segment in English?
