Hi everybody. I've been doing a lot of videos using Photo Booth lately
i just want to go over some of the issues that i found hopefully to make it
easier for you to figure them out so that you don't have to
figure them out 'the hard way' like i did
First, you want to make sure that you have the right uh... microphone input selected
uh... Photo Booth doesn't have its own settings for uh... to select a
microphone so you might have to go in your system preferences and sound
settings
uh... usually Photo Booth will default to your built-in microphone
uh... but if you have a different mic or if somehow it's got change you want to
go in and make that change in in the system preferences settings
just click "input"
and then click on the mic that you wanna use. Second issue and this is the
biggest issue for me is the sound with uh...
video and voice..
or uh... video and the sound not syncing up
and usually you don't realize this until after you.. - laugh -
after you've recorded your video and uh... by then it's too late
so uh... first tip: Always, whenever you do a recording do a visual
indicator
for sound i'll help you sync up later kinda like what they do in the movies when you
see the old uh...
clap-sticks, or whatever they're called. for me it seems like every time i delete a few
videos that i've recorded previously the the next ones have the voice and
uh...
video sync issue
so to cure it, all i do is just exit Photo Booth and restart it and then it's
good as new and it seems to go good for a while until it starts to get out of sync again.
finally if you've realized that the sound is out of sink after you've already
recorded it and you can't go back and redo your video for whatever reason it's
really easy to sync up in iMovie.
Let me show you real quick..
here's an example of a video that i did that was out of sync..
and this is what it looks like when your audio is out of sink as you can see it's
pretty annoying
but to fix it all i need is a visual cue
all you have to do is uh... go in..
detached the audio
look for your visual audio clue
and.. align it..
it's real easy just move it back-and-forth and.. it should snap-to
magnetically
make it real easy
to line up.. and now you can see that it's synced up
and as good as new
to fix it all i need is a visual cue
and that will help the fix it
