My favorite part of going to the Magic Horse is leading in the derby challenge.
A derby challenge is when
somebody speaks to the horse
and then you will lead or ride on it.
When we found out that he had autism, and he wasn't diagnosed until he was almost four,
and this was just because literally one day he woke up and
he lost all his language, he was back in diapers,
all he would do was cry in tantrum.
There's something about this horse. There's something about the horse and autism.
He might be afraid of little things like a dog but when it comes to a horse,
he came right up to him,
looked him in the eye, gave him hugs.
I mean, there is something about autism and the horse, whatever it is.
I hate to say the word magical, but it really is. It works.
And it's something that he doesn't have to take a drug for and anyway,
it's helping his, not only is it helping his language but it's helping his
muscle tone
it's helping his ability to be with a bigger animal
it's helping his ability to express himself in ways that he probably
wouldn't be able to do if he didn't have this therapy.
Walk, Tristen. Don't pull him please, thank you.
if it helps one child, you know, how amazing it can be to help other children.
