This is Dscoop.

Essentially what Dscoop houses is a community of HP users
who share best practice.
This is what everybody wants to know.
Everybody wants to know what works in today’s marketplace.
We’ve got about 500 printers here at Dscoop
sharing with each other what’s actually working in the real world
in this marketplace and in this community.
People want to know about sales.
How do you sell more to the existing customers
and how you acquire new customers?
They want to know about profitability, how you protect the margin you’ve got
and how do you put more profits down to the bottom line?
They want to know about business growth strategies.
I had the opportunity yesterday to visit the HP Graphic Arts Center here in Barcelona
and you get the feeling of not just what a one asset digital press can do
but what the entire gamut of what digital offers.
It’s about how do we market our products?
How do we really get people to understand what is possible these days?
There are so many new things that have come out in the past two years
whether it’s white ink or the different substrates
or very high quality books. Things like that.
A lot of consumers and a lot of business people are not aware
of the things you can do with Indigo printing especially, these days.
In a group like this, they share experiences.
They share customer stories
They share customer stories and it helps them decide what’s the best way
to help me convert my business to that next level that it needs to go to.
As a specialty paper manufacturer, we’re really seeking to understand the people,
to understand the needs of the printers,
to understand the service they would like to have
and when to come along with a new technique.
It’s very important to get the inside story,
how people are working with their customers
and what kind of end applications our paper is going to.
It’s a very crucial part of the work with HP and Dscoop.
I think, just in two days, it’s amazing how many people we’ve been able to meet.
We can intensify the business with our existing customers.
We can also really get new contacts around the globe.
What I really like are the educational sessions.
Today I had one session followed about finding new industries in packaging.
We are a label supplier.
We only produce labels but today I learned something about packaging,
how this market is growing and how we can step into this future growing market.
They are giving me so much information that when I’m back in the office,
I’ll have much news to spread.
This will help me grow the business.
The trends today that I see that are going on are with the advances in the Internet,
the whole social media that people are taking to,
how those then are connected and having people on the go with Smartphones and tablets.
Connecting those two things with now the technology of digital printing,
to create relevancy, engagement and interaction with packaging through digital printing,
is really a great, new opportunity to engage consumers, grow brand excitement
and ultimately increase revenue and profit margins for brands.
So, the digital printing aspects really can create all new business opportunities.
