(Collection of wedding banquet leftovers)
Yearend and new year are popular for weddings
Everyone has likely wasted food in banquets
An organization goes to banquets
and wraps up the leftovers
to reduce food waste
Wedding banquets have to be extravagant
Some think that there have to be many courses to be decent
If leftovers are dumped
it seems so wasteful
Hotel staff wrap up the leftovers
upon newly-weds' request
They take away the food right after the banquet
and give the food to the "new owners" in east Tsim Sha Tsui
Members who collected the food
are from "The Leftovers"
The organization has around 100 volunteers
When they received "orders"
they will gather people to help
distributing the wrapped up food
to the homeless people near the banquet venue
(Jam workshop)
Leftover fruits in good condition will be made into jam
We wish to link up the community all the time
like giving the leftovers to the residents within the same district
I think a cherishing heart is important for reducing waste
Cherishing food will result in
cherishing animals and cherishing people
(The Leftovark after doomsday)
The meal looks so rich and mouth-watering
It is hard to believe that
these are all leftover ingredients from Christmas parties
being recovered and become fresh cuisines
The principal of the Chinese University of Hong Kong also supports the event
In the previous cycle, we are used to the wasteful lifestyle
In this new cycle, Why don't we learn treasuring
what we wasted previously
We should build a new habit
and reflect on how wasteful we were before
