The OtterBox Armor Series offers incredible protection against water,
drops, dust and up to 2 tons of crushing force.
To begin inspection, first open the case.
To do this, unhook both metal latches by releasing the tab closest to each latch
from the front side of the case.
Once the case is open, check the seals for any debris or foreign objects that
may hinder the waterproof capabilities of the Armor Series.
Then open the plugs to continue to check for any unwanted particles around the O-rings.
If you notice any debris or foreign objects, thoroughly clean the case and
seals with hot soapy water.
Use a paper towel to clean the case and a Q-Tip to reach small areas.
You do not need to remove the seals from the case in order to clean them.
Be sure to dry the case entirely before moving
forward with the inspection phase.
Once your case is clean, it is crucial to properly reinstall the port covers.
If these ports are not properly sealed, water may work its way into the case.
To correctly reinstall the port covers, angle the plug toe-end first and firmly
wedge it into place until you see the lip come all the way through the openings.
Push down on the outside of the port covers one last time to ensure the lip is in as far in as possible.
All six tabs must be visible on the inside of the case to ensure a proper waterproof seal.
Once you are confident that the ports are successfully installed, you can close the case.
To do this, line-up the teeth on the back panel of the case with the
teeth holes on the front side of the case.
Apply pressure to the back panel while simultaneously securing the latches.
Submerge the case only to a depth of 6" or less for the initial test.
Without a device inside
the case will float.
You will need to weigh the case down underwater face down for the duration of the test.
After 30 minutes of successful testing, remove the Armor
Series from your water source and thoroughly dry it off.
You will notice water building up in the channel between the lid and the base of the case.
Be sure to thoroughly dry off this area with a paper towel and Q-Tips before opening the case.
To ensure that no water has entered the case, you will need to open it and inspect for any droplets on the inside.
Use careful consideration when opening the case to prevent the transfer of excess
water from the exterior to the interior of the case.
If you find water in the case after multiple tests, please contact our customer service team.
While the case is apart, you can easily install the optional carrying lanyard by feeding
the thin end through the hole on the bottom of the case.
Now place the end cap through the thin loop and pull the lanyard tightly to secure it.
Before installing your device, be sure that it is accessory-free.
Due to the precision design and custom fit of the Armor Series, any added accessories
such as screen protectors, stickers or full device wraps — should not be used
when the case is installed.
Additional layers will add undesirable thickness, which may compromise
the waterproof capability of the main seal.
Once you've confirmed that your device is free of any added accessories, place it
into the case, making sure all the features line up.
Be sure to place the bottom end of the device into the front end of the case first,
making sure all the acoustic features line up.
This step ensures maximum audio output from the device.
Before closing the case, check for any additional debris or foreign objects
around the seals and then properly align the teeth before closing the latches.
Carefully seal up each port cover and after one last inspection, your device is
now ready to take on the elements.
There you have it. The OtterBox Armor Series.
The Toughest Case Ever Built.
