Chocolate Ganache Recipe - Vegan
Hey my Sweet Vs, its The Sweetest Vegan here and today on the show
I'll be showing you how to make vegan chocolate ganache.
Traditonal ganache is a mixture of chocolate and heavy cream,
so since there is no vegan heavy cream, I am using Silk Creamer, which is a soy based creamer,
for coffees and things, but it works good at a heavy cream and fat.
You can use vegan butter or vegetable shortening.
I am using shortening, Spectrum, I usually have vegan butter on hand, Earth Balance brand.
For our chocolate, I will be using Ghirardelli semi sweet chocolate chips
and I am going to add those to a stainless steel bowl.
If you do not have a stainless steel bowl, you can use anything that is not plastic.
Bring your heavy cream or your creamer to a simmer, do not let is bowl
And then pour that over your chocolate.
Let it sit for a minute and then start to whisk.
You want to whisk until it reaches a deep dark chocolate color,
You do not want to see those grains up on the sides, because that means it is going to have a grainy texture.
You want it to be really smooth like this. You can use this ganache to cover cakes
and it is really good for that, or to dip fruit in.
