Greetings and appropriate salutations to all. It's the 9th day of February 2014.
I'm CXI...And this is "All That Matters"
[MUSIC]: Instrumental Version: "All that Matters (Just Planting a Seed)"
[MUSIC]: (Plays low in background for a while)
So the first thing to do is to tell you that my name is Troy Goss. I'm blessed to be a believer of Jesus Christ
...and I'm the composer and originator of the CCM band called Christ Xalted Inside or CXI.
My Church is Emmanuel Community Church in Hawthorne, CA
...and Pastor Fredrick L. Holmes is our senior pastor. I'm proud to be considered a friend of this awesome man of God.
I sing as a part of the praise team in my church, and the First Lady graciously leads us.
She has a beautiful, tremendous voice.
My mom was a very accomplished language teacher, english & french
...and my military Dad was a professional singer at one time.
I lost them both too early due to cancer,
so I really have a heart for hurting people and families who go through that.
Both of my parent's inspiration lead me and my older brother to try all the arts
- drawing, music, dance, sculpting, acting, electronics - good at all, master of none.
God has blessed me to be able to compose music. I get ideas all the time.
I don't see it the same, but I've been called a psalmist by my fellow Emmanuelite's - like King David - I guess.
So in 2005 I was lead to create CXI as a kind of one man band...
...that could collaborate with other's or help other's in the church develop their artistic voice.
I'm just Troy to everyone.
IZRI MEDIA PRODUCTIONS is the independent record label / publishing company
...that CXI is umbrellaed under hopeful to be a business one day.
My pastor's had a song he wrote that's been the intro music for his sermon CD's
I'm really proud of being in a position to help him get the music done for that.
What is CCM Music? CCM is a strange land. I think of my music as music, but the world needs a label...
like they are trying to avoid anything with a Christian message like avoiding MSG in food.
Come on. A Christian message IS a positive message "gospel= good news"
but it won't be understood that way - Jesus said that much - in the sermon on the mount.
...So I label my songs CCM/Pop or CCM/Jazz so people will know the style of music, but...
...it's all christian and that's usually on one album.
Rick Warren author of "The Purpose Driven Life" and many other's...
have made it clear that music is music, and it's the lyrics that make a song a "Christian" song.
...so I do theological studies on my lyrics before publishing.
I'd rather be a Berean and have to work with a difficult to fit lyric line, than put out something that's very doctrinally dangerous
...or too-self aggrandizing and we could see that happen in Christian music today if we're not careful.
There is a message in every song ever created...
...especially one's with lyrics and I always desired to know what the artist meant -
...over just listening to a song cause it's got a beat.
Even a washing machine has a beat - I don't want to invest my life in it.
I love positive message in CCM, in ever genre of music,
but we need Christ as the of center christian contemporary music - even more.
What I'd like to do is present to you a few songs from my independent CCM album called "LIVING FOR JESUS"
We really hope people will support the ministry, by visiting the links, clicking to purchasing items that they "LIKE",
...that supports this music
...and adding positive comments on the pages they visit.
I've said my songs, although written from a place of enjoyment, are really mini-scripture lessons,
...and I hope poetic musical license, does not overshadow sound doctrine.
"I'm All Yours, Forever", comes from Jesus' story of the Prodigal son in Luke 15.
Here's a youngman who stands to inherent a lot of wealth in time, who says I want it now Dad
- just consider yourself dead and give me my cut, Ouch!
As usual, he blows through it all trying to live for the world, and is left penniless and friendless.
When the money goes...the friends go.
In hitting rock bottom and returning home we find his father...
...embracing him instead of rejecting him,
...joyous that his son has come back a changed man - never losing his position as a son and as an heir.
Every generation complains about the one that comes after...
...but we see a lot of truth in this parable today.
We see the excessive wealth, the waste that is "reality TV showed" in front of us, in front of our eyes everyday.
We see the comparison of our Father in Heaven...
...still seeking and saving those that one time rejected Him, and the other son that never left, being asked to do same.
The prodigal son in the story didn't have a friend to point them in the right direction
...but the modern prodigal son or daughter should be able to find an everyday Christian...
...to help introduce them to the Savior...
and a way out of selfish, dead-end existence toward a new way and a new life (in Christ)...
...with your homeboys - Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.
Enjoy the song. God Bless You, ...and thank you for clicking.
