: It is a great question. The immediate answer that jumped to my mind even while you were
formulating your question is social and economic impact. We are not going to be a society of
anglo males in all of the majority positions of power and influence. America is changing
and America is becoming continually more diverse. Those of us say that you will in my generation
people in their fifties maybe the director of the social services advocacy organizations
or perhaps they are the high performers in the corporate world. We are not going to perform
in those roles much longer. Those roles are mostly held by anglo males. Who is going to
replace them not anglo males. It going to be women, people of color, people of disabilities.
If this country is going to move forward with its strength and diversity than its leadership
has to be growing and developed in our ethnic minorities in our disability community in
every area even those with *** orientation issues. All of that stuff. We are a diverse
country these days. We are no longer the days when the anglo white males can be in most
of these positions of authority, of power. of economic determination. So I would say
to prepare for that we have to look back to what you are doing now and fill in those blanks
of the past several decades that have moved people with disabilities to the mix of the
paradigm shift we are still in it still working towards it. Those people are going to replace
me they are going to be replacing the CEO of SVC corporation and for this country to
thrive we need to know our history and build on it and take it to true empowerment of everyone.
