>>Toby: So Amy’s going to teach us the chorus to “Here I Am to Worship” in ASL.
>>Amy: I’m excited; we’ve been talking about doing this for a few months now, and were waiting for the right weekend.
And this, I think, is not only the right weekend but the perfect weekend.
When I’m signing and singing, I feel like I’m worshipping with my whole body.
I’ve had people come to me that don’t know sign and say, “I wish I could do that because I feel like voice isn’t enough.
I want to show my worship in more ways.” And I think that goes with… though this isn’t a new song, it’s a new way to worship with this song.
Here I am to worship. Here I am to… now for “bow down” we have a person standing, and then they kneel.
I like to add a head bow.
>>Toby: Isn’t that cool? That was my favorite one. You can just see ‘em bow.
>>Amy: It is very visual. Here I am to bow down.
And for “Here I am to say that You’re my God,”
we know God is really everywhere, but for the sake of ASL we’re going to put Him right here.
So I’m going to tell God that, “You (point to Him)
are my (flat hand on the chest) God.”
For “altogether”: all of God. “Altogether worthy [video cut] lovely.”
Hands are open and then they close as they come across the face for beautiful.
Altogether worthy.
And it’s like the A-OK hands. The thumbs are touching at the bottom.
It arches up and they touch again. Altogether worthy.
And altogether wonderful… now here’s where I changed it to make sense in ASL.
I changed it to be more, “He takes wonderful care of us.”
The sign for “to-take-care-of,” if you know the alphabet it’s K-hands.
If you don’t, it’s two fingers up, put your thumbs in-between.
Stack it on top of each other.
That’s to take care of. In this case it’s God taking care of us.
So I’m going to rotate that inward and have Him taking care of us.
>>All singing: Here I am to worship. Here I am to bow down.
Here I am to say that You’re my God.
You’re altogether lovely,
altogether worthy
altogether wonderful to me
Here I am to worship
Here I am to bow down
Here I am to say that You’re my God
You’re altogether lovely
altogether worthy
altogether wonderful to me
King of all days, oh so highly exalted,
glorious in heaven above.
Humbly You came to the earth You created.
All for love’s sake became poor.
Here I am to worship.
Here I am to bow down
Here I am to say that You're my God.
You're altogether lovely
altogether worthy
altogether wonderful to me
Here I am to worship. Here I am to bow down.
Here I am to say that You're my God
You're altogether lovely, altogether worthy
altogether wonderful to me
Here I am to worship. Here I am to bow down.
Here I am to say that You're my God
You're altogether lovely, altogether worthy
altogether wonderful to me
>>Toby: Thank you, Amy. Praise the Lord!
