Hello, I'm Nick and welcome to Deviant-Hunting, a webseries devoted to showcasing some of
the most creative and awesome artworks from around the Deviantart community!
All artists on the show have given permission to use their artwork and links to the artists
can be found in the description, so let's get into!
The first artworks of the show comes from papercutter ParthKotheKar. Parth originally
created stencils for graffiti artworks, but somewhere along the line developed the idea
of reversing the stencils. The product of this
idea are these amazing papercuts. Each cut needs to be absolutely perfect or else the
whole artwork needs to be redone. Despite this
risk, Parth doesn't find it stressful but very exciting. Parth demonstrates his papercutting
techniques on his youtube and even sells some of his work on his website. Links in the
description below to check them out!
PanzertheTank illustrated this humanized adaption of Alduin, the antagonist of the popular video
game the "Elder Scrolls: Skyrim". In the video game, Alduin is huge fire breathing
and villianous dragon, however Panzer felt it lacked depth in it's character. So Panzer
developed his own rendition, adding traits such as grumpiness, gloominess and an all
around bad temper! Panzer has made a few cartoons
on his page which feature some arkward Alduin moments, go check them out!
Howard0 is a hobbyist artist from Hungary who specialises in watercolour portraits.
Howard has the ability to make this characters beautiful green, blue and brown eyes radiate
and glow from the screen. And this artwork is called "Hair Blowing in the Wind", highlighting
Howards awesome watercolour painting abilities!
Dragon-Flies artwork titled "Dark horses in my Soul" portrays the hidden talent, potential
or confidence deep within everyone. For Dragon-Flies, this artwork signified an
epiphany which helped her to move forward and be happy. Furthermore, this artwork was
influenced by the amazing song "Dark horses" by Switchfoot. Dragon-Flies is working on
writing a book and learning to become an illustrator, so visit her profile to track her progress!
Hybridgothica has a passion for ancient Egypt, the pharaohs and its art and culture. However,
despite her interest in ancient culture, HybridGothica's dominant motivation in
her creations is science fiction and space. Hybrid combines these two very different themes
in perfect harmony. The ancient tribal and cultural symbols present in all three of these
artworks merges excellently with the supernatural powers and space age technology. HybridGothica
one day hopes to visit Egypt which will definitely make a cool impact on
her future creations!
Giratina98 is responsible for the creation of these amazingly awesome Pokeballs. The
Pokeballs are all made from a styrofoam ball laced with hundreds of carefully placed
sequins. Giratina98 developed the idea as he was using sequins to create custom masquerade
masks which can also be found in his deviantart gallery, alongside even more types of
pokeballs. These pokeballs can easily be made into christmas tree ornaments, however, christmas
only comes once a year, so Giratina created pokeball keychains as well.
Ominoux expertly creates soft and calm atmospheres in her artworks. The characters appear to
express a child like innocence and a strong sense of wonder and playfullness. Ominoux's
motivation to create gentle artworks quite simply comes from the experience of a bad
day. When Ominoux has bad thoughts which make her feel unpleasant, sad, fustrated or even
apathetic, she turns to the canvas to release them. It's awesome to see Omnioux turn her
negative experiences into the positive experiences of her audience. See Ominoux's gallery
if you are feeling under the weather today!
The last artworks of the show comes from Australian artist JoshDykgraaf. Josh manipulates hundreds
if not thousands of images of buildings, street signs and billboards to create
these huge monsters. The idea behind using hundreds of buildings to create a monster
came from a university experiment which involved creating a floating city in the sky. Some of
the images used were taken in Canberra, Amsterdam, Hamburg and other European cities. Some of
these creations can take up to 50 hours to make, all of which you can check out
on his Youtube Channel! Links to see just how Josh starts to shape and create these
artworks are in the description below!
