Hi! Malik the magic guy at expertvillage.com. Now a little more on shuffling. This is called
the riffle shuffle, and I’m going to show you a couple of different ways to do it. Now
the key thing with the riffle shuffle is I’m going to show you a few different ways to
do it. Now the key thing with the riffle shuffle is I’m going to show you how to do it without
destroying the cards. Most ways you’re going to see the riffle shuffle you’re going to
start with the deck blocked into your hand like this, with your first finger bent on
the back to give it just a little bit of pressure here and you’re going to let some cards
go into your other hand. You’re going to separate these and then you’re going to
let them fall together just like that, and that’s basically how you’re going to do
a riffle shuffle, you can learn to this in the hands by blocking with these fingers here
underneath, with some practice you can learn to do that without a table in the hands. So
one more time we’ll do the riffle shuffle for you. This is the basic riffle shuffle
just like that, and you push the cards together gently. If there’s a little bend in the
card you just push it back, but the key is not to put too much pressure on the cards
and let the natural spring of the cards do the shuffle for you, so that’s the basic
riffle shuffle.
