I think to go along with, with the importance of the space in that office is the importance
of the VA work study program, which is kind of an underutilized program by the VA, and
the veteran can work up to 25 hours a week between their classes. They come in and we
have them actually do our intakes for veterans and we follow up phone calls kind of an in-reach
type of a program that we have kind of developed.
There’s a lot of bureaucracy involved with veteran benefits and it makes it a lot easier
if you have a support unit, a group of people that have been dealing with the same things
and have the answers to these questions already.
We have been able to grow our student veterans work study staff. We just started off with
two and now we are up to 4, so again, showing the significant growth of our office was very
important in order to expand the number of student veterans that we employed.
