*intro music* Okay, so today we’re doing a little bit of a more fun video.
We're doing a little bit of a food haul thanks to my wonderful friend, Elena.
A couple months ago, I had the idea to do a little bit of a food trying video
and Tumblr actually kind of suggested it a little bit and then people were going to bring in food from wherever they were from
and I would try them and, you know, film it.
That was a while back and I really didn't get very much, so I just scrapped the footage because there just wasn't enough of it.
So, sorry, but hopefully this makes up for it because I know that if I don't do this video, Elena might put things in my food if I ever go visit her restaurant, so...
I am hungry just looking at this stuff
So Elena sent me a box of her favourite Asian treats.
She is Southeast Asian, so it makes sense and now I'm going to eat and drink them.
This doesn't have the label on it anymore because I just had to rip it all off.
But this is a Thai tea drink, I have had this before.
I've had the powdered version that you heat up and then you can let it cool, or drink it hot.
But I don't think I've ever had the bottled version.
So, Elena's tip is to let it chill in the fridge for about 20 minutes before drinking it.
I think I put it for about half that time before this video.
It's been in the fridge before, but whatever.
So like I said, I've had this before, I've had the powdered version and I liked it, so I'm probably gonna like this.
Yep, it's still really, really good and I'm gonna save that, because I can, thanks to this beautiful lid.
And this is roasted coconut juice, I've seen this at my own Asian store, but I never got it because I'm not a fan of coconut water or coconut anything, really in liquid form.
I like coconut pie, but coconut juice and water I'm not too crazy about.
But she said that this is the real deal and I gotta try it and I will.
It's actually not so bad. It's got a little pulp pieces in it
and I'm one of those people that's very picky about texture in drinks, so it's kind of throwing me off, just a little bit, but it's not bad.
I feel like I might want to put it in the strainer before drinking the rest of it.
It's not bad, the drink itself is really good, just the little pieces keep weirding my mouth out a little bit.
Now I know what these are, I have these all the time. The Hello Panda, it's chocolate in a little biscuit cookie.
I mean, unless you don't like chocolate, you can't really go wrong, but -
Aww! It's a little bear on a little boat and he's sailing.
Onnomnomnomnom.
It's good, of course it's good.
And then we have these little fruit jellies. I've seen these in my Asian market as well and I think I have 3 of them.
I have - I don't think it's gonna tell me what they are... I wanna guess that this one's strawberry, 'cause it's pink.
And then this one is grape and then this one might be apple.
I don't know if she wants me to try all of them at once. I'm just gonna have one because if I like one, I wanna save them.
So I'm gonna have the grape one.
It's got little chunks of stuff in it and my mouth is already like aaah.
I can't get it open!
That one's definitely grape. That's what it looks like. And now I have juice in my face.
Let's see if I can just -
(mouth full) I can do that!
It's not bad. I'm not crazy about it though, it might just be this flavour.
And the little pieces inside aren't weirding me out even though they did in the drink, so.
And now, this is her favourite and the one I have been looking forward to the most.
These are little seaweed chips: the kimchi flavour, and I love kimchi.
So I'm very excited to have this.
Oh, they smell so good.
So I'm about to have the seasoned side down. You can't eat a chip properly unless you have the seasoned side down.
So if you're eating a Pringle, you have to have it on the seasoned side down.
That's good. It's a little spicy, which I like.
I don't like it when I'm being blinded by lights, but that is good.
[SIGNING] This is awesome. This is so good.
Okay, I'm done with that coconut drink and that texture. Aaaah.
And then the last thing I have is White Rabbit candy.
And I wanted to try this before because we do have them in Asian stores here, but I remember they got recalled a couple years ago because of something bad.
So I was scared to get them ever since, but we're gonna do it.
And this is gonna take the longest to eat properly because it's, like, a hard candy.
It just tastes like a milk candy. There's no, like, strong taste of anything other than, like, just the normal milk candy.
It's good. I like it.
And that's everything in there, so thank you, Elena for the food.
Especially these, I am so stoked to eat the rest of this.
It's only 95 calories per bag, so I'm going to eat - or I will probably eat - both bags today.
Thank you.
So I'm gonna finish eating this and I will see you later. Bye.
