Hi. I'm Jennifer Durbin, and I've got some ideas for you for your next plane ride and
the snacks you should take along for your toddler.
It's really important to take a number of different snacks with you when you're on the
plane with a toddler. It can keep them entertained and will keep them happy if they're hungry.
Especially in between meals, and as you change time zones, it can be a super easy way to
adjust them from one time zone to the next.
So you'll want to pack your child's favorite treats, but be careful not to pack anything
that's going to be too messy. For instance, you probably don't want to give them a lollipop
on the plane, because their hands will end up sticky and all over the seats. It will
just make a big mess.
Think of packing mess free snacks, something along the lines of goldfish, chewy granola
bars, or cheerios; and pack enough, so you'll want to have enough to hand the child in a
small container, because you don't want them to spill it on the floor.
But then you'll want backups in case they change their mind, or go through an unexpected
growth spurt when you're at 30,000 feet. So do a little planning. Pack a good variety
of snacks, and make sure you have plenty of water for them to drink, too. And that will
make your plane ride so much easier.
And don't forget; you need to have a ziplock bag handy. That's perfect for wrappers from
your granola bars, or any other trash. Always, always, always have enough wipes handy to
wipe off their hands, their face, or wherever they've made a mess.
