You have a friend, family member, or other loved one who was a resident of a nursing
home or rehab facility and now they've developed these horrible bedsores. You want to know
if there's a potential claim. Hi, I'm Guy DiMartino. I am an injury and accident lawyer
and today I like to explain a little bit about bedsores or pressure ulcers. There are two
main issues when we evaluate whether somebody has a claim for these bedsores. And that is
number one, did the staff at the nursing facility do a proper evaluation to determine if the
resident had certain risks to show that they were more susceptible to the breakdown of
skin in the development of these pressure ulcers? The second thing that we look at is
if the person had a high or moderate risk did the staff follow the proper rules and
regulations required for assessment, turning, and repositioning your loved one. Most of
the time these injuries develop because the nursing home staff failed to follow proper
protocol in turning and repositioning the resident. If you have any questions about
bedsores, decubitus ulcers, you can always give me a call directly on my cell phone at
352-267-9168 or shoot me an email. Thank you and have yourself a great day.
