hi everyone so today I have a little basic decoden basics tutorial for you and i'm going
to show you the supplies you need, the setup, and the basics of how you do it.
And you're going to watch me make this Rilakkuma themed decoden box.
So I hope you enjoy this video! There are two types of decodening- bling and
whipped cream. I'm going to show you the basics of the whipped
cream one. You'll need silicone and my favorite brands
are GE and DAP. Icing tips- I prefer plastic to metal and
here's why: Clean up for metal tips is sticky and hard
and silicone can get stuck whereas for plastic you can just leave it to dry and peel it out.
Pastry bags, if you have sensitive skin like me wear gloves & mask, You'll need cabochons
bought or made, Rhinestones/pearls/cane slices. This is optional but you can use scribbles
or any fabric paint to do drizzling on sides. things to put up the small pieces
Surfaces to decoden I'm going to use this bento box
Lastly, a plastic bag and ruler Plastic bag is used to remove sticky silicone
off hands then cut off pastry bag 1/3 of the length
of icing tip and place it inside
if you're using the tube silicone you can just tape on the icing tip
roll the sides up, stick the gun in and squeeeze the silicone out
then massage the silicone use the ruler to push it to bottom
then twist this is my setup- cabochons on left, handmade
ones here, rhinestones at top, and surface on right.
there are many piping methods but for the outside i like the stars or dallops
then for inside i like to do the long sideways dollops
fill in any empty spots and now it's time to decoden!
I put the clay pieces on first, then the cabocons i bought, and lastly rhinestones
and pearls. Wait 15mins for top to dry then use scribbles
to put drizzle on sides. Then I'm done!
OH NO! I have extra silicone left what do i do??
My next cake box needs a white silicone so i'm going to tape wax paper on box
and put silicone where i need it, then i can just peel it off when dry and put it where
i need it! And
you can also use the extra to make dollops deco pieces
So that was my decoden basics tutorial and walk through of this decoden box and i hope
you enjoyed it- BYE~!
