Hi,I'm QDC. At the time of this recording
there are over one million views to my channel
and that's pretty amazing. Since March 2011
I have been making videos and placing it here on YouTube
and now there are over 1 million views
for all my videos.
I want to thank you for watch my videos by taking you to a small
fieldtrip. Today, I'm gonna take you
on a tour on-board the Battleship Iwoa
located in San Pedro, California.
Which is right next to Los Angeles in the Los Angeles-area.
The battleship Iowa was recently turned into a muesum not long ago
and so let's go on that battleship and see what we can
find inside. Okay, so we're in Los Angeles-area
and right behind me is the battleship Iowa. Lets go inside this historic battleship
and lets see what we can find inside.
This is a shell and right behind it is
the charge powder.
This is a modern-day weapon
that designed to
shoot incoming missiles.
These are...
these things shoot chaff
to
confuse incoming missiles.
Hi.
So this the captain's ward room.
This is the captain's ward room? Wow.
Docent: Yes, it's big and luxurious. Big ship.
Very luxurious! Docent: Yes, compared to the enlisted quarters. This is
...President Roosevelt rode the Iowa across the Atlantic
both ways actually for the Tehran conference in 1943
and a lot of the preliminary planning
for the D-Day invasion 1944 was done right here. He had his whole staff with him
course for the conference away from Washington (refering to the USA capital), the phones and meetings
and stuff so
he had the opportunity to do a lot of the original planning.
As you move back you can see the stateroom and the famous Roosevelt bath tub.
So this is the famous bathroom for president
Roosevelt.
Okay, we're back.
I was a little disappointed about my tour going on the battleship Iowa
because since it was recently opened
as a museum. All parts ship of the was not
open for general public. I wanted to see interior of the
large guns, I wanted to go on the bridge, and I wanted to into the engine room which was not
allowed at the time. But anyway,
really, I am surprised that I reached over
over 1 million viewers on my channel.
I know I have been saying this over and over
again. When I make these videos.
All I am doing is trying to encourage you to build your own model kits.
So please, build your own model kits.
If you like model kits as much as I do,
just build one. Enjoy what you like to do.
I'm QDC. Thanks for watching!
